Default Boarding time

In the paperwork that we received for our cruise on the Explorer of the seas next week, it says that boarding time is one o'clock. Does this mean they will not let us board if we arrive around 11?

It depends on how quickly they can clear the ship of the previous cruise's passengers and clean the public areas of the ship. At worst, you may have to sit in the terminal for a short while. Of all the RCI cruises I've been on, we usually started boarding sometime between 11am and noon. Your cabin will probably not be ready and open for you until atleast 1pm, if not a little later.

you should be ok if you arrive sometime after 11. You may have to wait a little while in the terminal before you can board. If your cabin isn't ready its a good time to just wander around and familarize yourself with the ship

We have been on as early as 11:00 on few occasions. They usually let you on, but shut off the corridors to the cabins until 1:00. You can go to Windjammer to eat, go check out your table for your dinning arrangements and make any changes, roam the ship to get the lay of the land and many other things to pass the time until you can get to your room.

I'm leaving from Puerto Rico on my next cruise. They say you can board at 2pm. I'm thinking the rooms will be ready by 2 but we don't set sail until 8. I plan on dropping off my bags and then going to explore puerto for a few hrs till we embark..
