Default Isolated for 48 hrs onboard Royal caribbean.

Is it truth that if you visit the medical facility because you ate much food and threw up, the doctor onboard can isolate you for 48 hrs. I was told by 2 different people , that it is really common. It never happened to be in the past but I want to be clear on that issue. Thanks

Yes, they will err on the side of caution. If you throw up there is no way of telling why. You can't just say you had bad food so therefore they will isolate you.

ALL the cruise lines will quarantine you if Norwalk Virus is detected or suspected.

NO cruise line will quarantine you for eating too much and throwing up. That's just a ridiculous premise!

And yes, all the cruise lines have experienced breakouts of Norwalk over the last several years. It's nasty and takes quarantines, and deep cleaning to rid the ship of it.

If you ate to much (or drank to much) and threw up, why would you go to the ships doctor? Especially with the price they charge. Sleep it off and don't do it again the next day.

What I can tell you for certain is that if you drink the entire bottle of champagne with little or no help from anyone, then try a cuban cigar, you are going to be as sick as you ever have been.

The good news is that it passes.. and you never ever do it again.

ok.. well maybe not the cigar,

And you probably wouldn't want to go to the ships Dr., they would probably get a good laugh though. But I bet you are a fun one to cruise with.

I have slowed down a bit, but some years ago( new year's eve party ) I drank 2 bottles of champagne and smoked a cigar without getting sick.
