Default Liberty Of The Seas July 11, 2009 :)

LIBERTY OF THE SEAS Western route to Grand Cayman, Jamaica, Labadee and Cozumel

Jetblue to Fort Luaderdale - Love Jetblue and they are always my first choice when flying to one of their destinations.

Precruise hotel - Hampton Inn FLL Airport - Love all the Hampton Inn's I have stayed at. Clean and quiet rooms and friendly staff with free breakfest, internet and airport transfers. The pool is enjoyable too.

Captain - Charles Teige
CD - Allen Brooks

Embarkation - Was very fast we were on the ship around 11:30am the pool bar was not even open yet.

Crusiers - Since it is summer there were alot of families. Many teenager and many europeans. Big groups from Norway, Germany, Italy and Brazil. I was expecting teens sitting at the stairs, pressing elevator buttons and running in the halls well there was none of that.

Ship - After the 3rd time on the Liberty I can still say Wow! Beautiful Ship!

Weather - Perfect!!! Sunshine, hot and not a drop of rain.

Cabin - Promenade deck 7 - I'm not in the cabin much so it was just fine. Day 1 I started to undress and realized the curtain was open. :o After that I got the hang of making sure the curtain was closed.
I never saw any of my neighbors on the other side they always had the curtain closed. The ship was sold out so there were cruisers in those cabins. Promenade cabins are ok but I would not pay extra for one. Cabin was right above the Pub and you can hear the music alittle bit at times.

Service - As usual excellent! Room attendant was great. Waiters were wonderful. I had mentioned to my waiter Jose that I love lobster well on lobster nite after I finished my first lobster he brought me another one and after that he came around with the 3rd. I had to tell him no more after this one because he would of brought me a 4th. We did Mytime dining and loved it. Ate around 6 a few nites and some nites at 7 depending what the day was like. We had the same waiters all week.

Food - Everything we ordered was delish. Windjammer was very busy starting after 8am. If you have a big group it gets difficult to get a table.

Entertainment - Very good! Juggler and Comedian were good, a great Abba show and production shows. I missed the ice show. I'll catch it again on the next Liberty cruise.
Sailaway party was a blast as were the pool games.
The bands were good both ballroom band and Latin band, DJ was excellent.
70's Party was awesome I had so much fun, 80's Party was a blast, The Quest, Love and Marriage game show and battle of the sexes was good.

Chair Hogs - were out and about and busy hogging begining at 9ish. On sea days if you get to the pool at 11am there are no more loungers left. The do make announcements and there are signs up about reserving chairs however that is about it. So since I'm a early riser (around 5:30/6:00am) I had the opportunity to reserve my lounger at the best location. If you can't beat'em then Join'em.

Love Love Love the Smoothie Bar that is poolside on Freedom class ships. Enjoyed my Fatburner Mango smoothie each day. However I mentioned to Bartender Dewitt if I will loose 10 pounds drinking fatburner smoothies each day and he said yes. However today I stepped on the scale and only lost 3 pounds on this cruise.

There were the Quinceaneras parties onboard and all the teenage girls looked beautiful and their parents were proud.

Ports -
Labadee - We did the Zipline. It was awesome and will do it again in the future. Loved it!

Jamaica - We did the Mystic Mountain Rain Forest. This is a new attraction that is only 1 year old. First you take a skylift up to the mountain for a 15 minute ride. Then you take a bobsled ride. Alot of fun if you like roller coasters. There is also a pool with a big slide there also. There is a zipline there too but we did not zip there.

Cozumel - We went Parasailing. Will never do it again! We felt sick while parasailing. I'm not afraid of heights however it scared me. At least we can say we tried it once.

Grand Cayman - Stayed on the ship. Had all the loungers. pools and hot tubs to myself it was just a very relaxing day.

We booked the excursions through Royal and it worked out fine. In Cozumel the ship was late in leaving. Instead of a 7pm departure the ship left at 7:45 departure because of a Royal excursion that was running late.

Rock Climbed each day and loved it! Yeah! made it to the top and rang the bell. WoooHooo!

There was the crew vs guest soccer match on the last sea day that was fun to watch.

Formal nites were very Formal alot of tuxs and red carpet gowns.

Virgina and Nikko in the Diamond Lounge were awesome!!

C&A gift was the large tote bag which I needed one anyway! Better then getting another Hat!

Attended the two C&A repeaters parties which were fun I got to chat with fellow cruisers and met some really nice people.

My big complaint is I orginally booked a back 2 back and then changed it because I thought 2 weeks would be too much! Well 7 nites on the Liberty felt like 3 nites it went too quick. Time to book again!

Thank you to the Liberty of the Seas for another excellent Cruise vacation!!

Cruisequeen, thank you for your excellent review of the Liberty OTS. As you know, I love that ship as well and I have a cruise booked on her in november.
Now that I have read your review, I am looking forward to that sailing even more. 8)

your outfits for both formal nights are superb 8) 8) 8) 8) ...I will be sure to coordinate outfits with you when we are both on the Epic and I have been taking advance Salsa lessons in anticipation of us winning the "dancing with the stars" contest onboard next fall

enjoy these cruises with your son while you can..they grow up so quickly and soon when you go cruising, he'll be hanging out with the young girls and will not have alot of time to hang with his mom

Great review, I have to agree with Venice I loved your formal night gowns. Quinceaneras are fun, I remeber when Crazysis was invited to be in one. That is funny about the Promenade rooms, why they don't they use one way glass. Lucky dog losing 3 pounds on vacation. Maybe I need to swim or dance more on my next cruise. Carnival just started my time dining and I was thinking of doing it on my next cruise. I didn't want to because I want the same dining staff. It's cool that you can do my time and have the same dining staff.

Allow me to join those before me who heaped compliments on your formal wear, you look beautiful and your son was equally handsome.

I love Jetblue also!! Luckily living in Florida we can drive to the ports.
Which brings up Port Canaveral... since you feel compelled to make up for that b2b that you didn't do, might I suggest Freedom Of The Seas, September 13th... I know a couple who would LOVE to meet you and buy you a cool refreshing drink! (wink wink)

Your review was wonderful as always CQ and your "Lust For Life" is as inspiring as usual!

<--- me casually glancing up just before CQ realized the curtains were open!

Great pix and review. You and your son are a good-looking pair! How old is he? (I'm a mom of a preteen son also).
I'm going on Freedom of the Seas with my boy next May--glad to hear such positive things about her "sister."

TM - I think you will agree with me that Liberty is a ship you don't just sail on once! I will sail on her again.

Venice - I'm glad you are an advanced salsa dancer...you can teach me some new moves.
And yes I am enjoying all the Mom and Son cruises that I can because once they hit about 17/18 things change.

Kat - You might end up with the same wait staff on Carnival doing my time. If you request that you want the same section they do go out of their way to make it happen.

Mike Suz - I hope to meet yourself and Suz on a ship one day. I have to get back on the Freedom since I now have 3 cruises on Liberty and only 2 on Freedom....I'll have to even it out and of course there is always Indy.

CruisePhD - I was on the Freedom twice same exact fun like the Liberty! You and your son will love it. My son is 14.

Thanks for the Compliments Everyone!

Such wonderful and nice folks here on Cruisemates!!!! 8)

CQ, the Liberty OTS is definetely not a ship to sail only once. When I sailed on her, my DW and I just fell in love with that beautifull ship.
That is why we are sailing on her again on nov. 22nd 09.

CQ, I certainly look up to you for taking every opportunity you can to go on a cruise.

And I thought I was a cruise addict!!!

Boy I wish I can be on the Liberty in Nov. with you guys.

CQ, I wish that you could be on the Liberty in nov. also.

We aren't cruising more often at this time because my mom is going through a difficult stage, and we can't leave this area very often.

TM since I like booking cruises 30 days prior to sailing you just never know I just might be on Liberty again. 8)

And If I'm not you will have to tell my friends there that the "Liberty Dancing Queen" says hello. 8)

I know!! I could not get the Speedo pic discreetly. There was a couple from Brazil by the pool and I was going to take the shot but they kinda were looking my way and would have seen me take the shot.
The Guy had the perfect body for a Speedo and his girlfriend was perfect in her Thong.

Actually I think I do have one Speedo picture I'll look for it I'm pretty sure I have it unless I deleted it by mistake.

Thanks for the review, the Liberty is such a wonderful ship, can't wait to book her again. Did you submit your review under the review section so others can find it when browsing this site? Plese do it, it is nice to have positive reviews on there instead of finding the complainers reviews. I always say that cruising is all about attitude, I for one will never have a bad time cruising because I am on vacation and not at home working.

CQ..the heck with the guy from Brazil with the speedo ..you have a civic responsiblity to all of your male CM poster fan club members that whenever you are on a cruise, and you see a woman from Brazil in a thong...you MUST take her picture and post it on these boards upon your return 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) matter of fact, go to the internet cafe and upload it on the spot and "pm" it to DTW and myself prior to your postings so we can have enough time to think of "timely and witty" remarks

we will keep you supplied with Johnny Rocket coupons as payment for these pictures..thank you in advance of your next cruise on the Liberty

your fan club members Dave The Wave and Venice and all of the silent married male CM's

I promise to get some good Speedo shots for the CM gals and some good Thong Shots for the CM guys during the next cruise.

And the next cruise has almost 5 sea days so gives me more time to discreetly take some pics.

Now have to hope there will be Brazilians and Italians onboard. 8)

CQ...perhaps on your next cruise they will have an onboard photography workshop entitled "how to take discreet photos of guest in thongs and speedos" conducted by the ship's photographer on one of your 5 sea days

Dave the Wave and I will be on the look out for a future theme cruise featuring 'Swimsuit Models From Brazil' and "World Cup Soccer Clinics for Youths" that you and your son can book and you can both "enrich yourselves"

I've been to the beaches of Rio... I consider it one of the 7 Wonders of the Modern World

Portofino and Chops are an extra fee. You can reserve online if you like.
If you go on Royal's website you can purchase....
Specialty restaurants
Soda package
wine Package
Excursions

Go under "My Cruises" then "Reservation number ******" From there you can make your purchase.

Have a great cruise!
