coupon book
 

I somehow missed this,but I was reading Snoozmans blog and read that the coupon books have changed. There are no more" free" coupons, just discounts. any thoughts ?

I thought the new coupon books were starting as of Sept. 1st. with the other changes :?: :-? Had the normal coupon book a few weeks ago on the Explorer.

Like I said, it is new to me ? No big deal I guess, just thought I would stir the pot a bit LOL

when I sailed in May on Voyager, the coupon book had freebies in it

The only coupon I used is the free glass of wine coupon. My son uses the Johnny Rockets coupon.

I should have used the casino $5. match play coupons. I only step foot in the casino as my walkway to and from Bolero's and the Disco. LOL :twisted: 8)

Come to think of it CQ, even though I've never used it, the coupon book we received on our Explorer cruise this June was greatly downgraded from last year (which was the same for our first cruise two years previously) and may well have been discount only. I do remember that I had wanted to use the free Johnny Rockets coupon but it was only for something such as a free milkshake or something similar. To be honest with you, I kinda' considered most of the "bargains" somewhat of an insult had I been so inclined to avail myself of the opportunity.

Maybe they either ran out of the new coupons if you sailed after us or more probably, because you're such a frequent cruiser, you got the old one.

I thought I read somewhere that as they run out of the old ones they will use the new ones with less freebies and more discounts. Maybe CQ still had an old one because she is a diamond member and they aren't running out of those ones as fast as the gold and platinim ones. Have never really used that many coupons anyway, mainly the Johnny rockets one and a photo coupon or two. They don't seem to have that great of deals anyway.

Actually now that I think about it I might have had the new discounted coupon book too.

Todd I saw your post about the JR milkshake discount so I asked my son if he used the coupon and he told me that the coupon was for a milkshake.

When I get the coupon book I skim through it real quick. I saw JR in big letters but did not read the rest of the coupon. I gave it to my son.
I also had a Platinum coupon book. Either they ran out of Diamond books or they demoted me. LOL LOL LOL :twisted: :o

Actually I was assigned my cabin 2 days before the cruise and a platinum couple were supposed to be in that cabin so it was set up for them when I arrived.

Oh man I bought two 8x10 white photos and had the coupon but never used it. :-? LOL :roll:

But since I had a platinum book and not diamond my coupon was only 15% and not 20% :(

The only coupon I used was the free internet credit. I used a few minutes and left. That was a nice thank you, but I'm not going to continue to pay the big bucks for the internet that was dog slow, worse than dialup. I'm not paying for dialup. If they want to charge, it has to work.

The Diamond coupon book on Splendour in August had the ones that yellosno noted.

I agree,if the coupons are the ones listed in an above post,it is really more an insult than anything. For example, charge you for a shake at Rockets instead of free ---the burger was free. Remember, these new coupons are to generate more revenues,more profits for Royal and they expect us to be so dumb to think we get a good value.

Well - with the discounts they are doing on the rooms, they have to try to make up for it somewhere.

I'll take the lower room rate any day!

Hello CQ and Donna. I haven't been on this board in ages. Lost the web site and just remembered it. Hello to all. Going on my 2nd cruise. Indy March 20,2010! 8 days this time. Flying in the night before which I didn't do the first time. DH still won't cruise with me so taking another friend. Any shopping tips for St Phillipsburg and St Amelia. San Juan is also one of the ports. Thanks for any tips you can give me. You were all priceless when it came to answering my questions for my first cruise...Good to be back!
