Default Sailing out of Jersey in January

Has anyone sailed out of Ny/Nj during the winter?
Are there rough seas? How are the first few days in the cold weather?

I have not however my sister did last winter. Departure day and the 1st full sea day are cold. After that it should be ok.
The first sea day was rocky.

My cousin did a winter cruise from NY and her sailing was smooth sailing no rocking.

If you are doing the 9 niter then you should have about 6 days of warm weather.

Correct, first few days a bit cold but worth it, then all of a sudden quite beautiful. Yes the ocean is rougher in the winter as we have experienced. Last years cruise was a bit of an adventure, we hit 30 foot swells for 2-3 days. As you see it wont stop us from booking in the winter.

Dave, please let us know how it went. I might want to cruise out of NJ in the winter myself.
