Has anyone sailed on a ship with the salsa band "Sol Y Arena". I know thecruisequeen has now looked at this ? Great band, nice guys. If you like to Salsa, go to Boleros and hope that Sol Y Arena is there!

Hey Yellosno Do you know what ship they are on?

I have never sailed with them before.

So far my favorite is Salsa Magic on Liberty.

They were on the Freedom when we were on Apr.19th. They really were the best of all the ship Latin bands I have heard. In fact, they made a CD for me (they sold out the cruise before), and I am listening to it right now. They will be on the Oasis (lucky me) along with Adrian (sp), I know you know him. should be great !

Yellsno yes they are great. I have seen them on one of my Liberty trips and that video was shot on the Liberty.
Good that they gave you a CD for home.

In July I missed my Salsa Magic by one week

They were getting off for vaca and I was getting on. However one of the gals working in the photo shop is dating one of the band members so she had a CD and gave it to me. Now I can listen to Salsa Magic in the car every day.

I enjoyed the band Latin Magic on the Explorer. I always gave them a few request each nite and the always played them for me.

Music and Dance what a beautiful thing!! 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

Life is good when there is Salsa onboard!

That is great! Man Oasis what a ship that will be with the best of best crew. Adrian, Spacey and Darryl just to name a few.

I think I would to,

I really enjoy Salsa music. But I grow up listening to Portuguese Music and it has some similar beats.

I believe that music is therapy....my father played guitar and enjoyed listening and playing like Chet Atkins, so every once awhile when I think about my Dad, I put on a Chet Atkins CD (you know how hard they are to find)....every August 29th, (anniversary of Hurricane Katrina), I play all the smooth jazz cd's of the artist that were on the Conquest that year and reflect on the healing process that i went thru that week

now when I am watching DWTS and they have the Salsa show, I will think of CQ 8) 8) 8)

Hi everyone! I will be leaving on the Navigator on Dec 5. I know they have a Boleros and I cant wait to dance some salsa. I am peruvian and my BF is cuban so you better beleive we are going to kick the rug!

BTW this message board is soooo much nicer than some other "critics" I dont think I will be going to go back to reading "criticizm"

I am so happy i met a fellow cruiser who loves salsa as much as I do. I cannot WAIT to sail on Navigator. Send me more pictures please! BTW i have heard that Boleros makes great mojitos. Have you tried them? If so what are the prices on them. I like to have a budget for drinks onboard so I was kinda curious...

The Mojitos are so good! For some reason they taste the best at Bolero's versus the other bars.

I'm pretty sure they were around $6.00.

For a shorter cruise Navigator is my favorite. Boleros was very festive each nite and met alot of great salsa loving cruisers.

Boleros that were quite with not much going on were The Enchantment and Explorer.

I'll see if I can find anymore pictures for ya but first I have to go watch Dancing with the Stars it is almost 8pm. 8)

We are intersted in booking a cruise on Royal Carribbean for a january sailing. Really into salsa dancing so want to be on the best ship for this. What cruise ship did you experience boleros? Please let me know.

The largest Boleros is on the Oasis. The Freedom class is next and the Voyager class has pretty much dedicated the Aquarium bar as the Latin themed bar. We were just on the Adventure out of San Juan and there are so many Latin music lovers out of San Juan that the ship uses the larger bar on deck 14. I think your best choice will be the Freedom or the Oasis since the Adventure has now left Puerto Rico.
