Default Ice Show on the Freedom?

How do you get in to see the ice show on the Freedom. On the Explorer you had to go and get in line the first night on the ship and pick up some tickets for one of the two shows. It was a first come first serve thing and it seemed like you could be out of luck if you did not go that first night and get in line. I have not heard anything like that here for Freedom so I was just wondering what the proceedure was.

In November 2008 when we sailed on Freedom it was that very same procedure. I have read recently that is no longer the case. I read that you line up outside studio B for the show and take your chances that you'll get a seat. Personally, I think Royal is moving backwards with this new policy.

I think this Ice Show thing needs some clarifying---
I was just on the Freedom 9-20 thru 9-27 sailing , eastern itin.
YES--you do need to get tickets to get into the ice show. There are no numbered seats, etc. once inside the arena It's seating as you find it but you DO HAVE TO GET TICKETS to get in, and yes, they're free.

Watch the daily Cruise Compass for the info. re / the date and time they will be giving them out. Last week, they had tables set up in the Promenade in front of Sorrento's Pizza to hand out the tickets. You have to make your mind up when you want to go and they will give you tickets for that show and time only.
In our case, the tickets were handed out on Tuesday, Sept. 22 from 9.00 a.m thru 10:30 a.m on the Promenade in front of Sorrentos Pizza but by 8:30 or so people were already lining up to get tickets. Only one person per family or group needs to go--no need to take the entire family or group. Just know before hand which show you want to go to --watch the daily paper for the times.
Also, they start lining up about half an hour before the door opens to get into the arena to see the show itself so keep that in mind too---
The Ice show is something you don't want to miss.
Happy skating and sailing.
