Default suggestions on shopping and eating in mexico

I am a first time cruiser and going with my mom on the radiance of the seas on Dec. 11th and were going on a 10 night mexican riviera cruise. My question is what ports have great shopping and where would that be? Also what mexican food resteraunts would be highly reccomended in any of the ports? Any suggestions are appreciated as I am a first time cruiser. Thanks, Shana

Is there no one on here ever been on a mexican riveria cruise before? If you have been please let me know if you know where some nice shopping is like a mall or something. I would also like to have suggestions of some great tasting mexican resteraunts in any of the ports. Also any suggestions of things to do that are accessable for a wheelchair bound persom? Although I can walk about 100 steps with my cane. Please help me get some info. or refer me to another website that people will answer my questions. Ty, Shana

In Cabo San Lucas you will be tendered. You can then use a wheel chair along the water (on a walkway) and there are lots of restaurants at the marina. They are all pretty good.

In Mazatlan, take a cab to the "Golden Zone". Panchos is on the water but I'm not sure about a wheelchair. Otherwise, ask to be taken to the Inn at Mazatlan for lunch.

In Puerto Vallarta, if you take a cab to downtown there are lots of places to eat across the street from the ocean.

Once you are on board the ship, ask the Activity Desk for suggestions, especially since you need wheelchair access.

Have a Great Time!! I was hoping to book Radiance next October, but I don't see where they will be back in the Mexican Riviera.

I haven't been to those ports so have no advice, but I can tell you who I usually ask about where to shop, where to eat, how not to get ripped off and that is the crew- the CD (entertainment staff) always know the cheapest, easiest and best way to go anywhere, and they seem to go ashore more than any of the rest of the crew.
Don't bother to go to the shopping lectures, they always have them and they advise you to go to shops that give the cruise line a commission, so their advice is not unbiased.

Hello Shana, Carole and I just returned from Mexico on October 1st. There is loads of shopping. I am not sure what you are looking for,but you should find Silver, Leather and many Jewelers. A couple we met purchased a ring in I think Mazatlan. the next day her finger turned green. It looked like a nice ring and I am sure it set him back many hundreds of dollars. I would be careful about any major purchase. I have found that with a little research you can get just as good a deal at home or better. As far as nick nacks and T shirts go for it. We had lunch in all the ports and it was very good. I enjoyed Cabo very much loads of shopping and good places to eat. It had changed a lot since the last time we were there, but nothing stays the same. Have a wonderful time. Mike
