Default If you could....

afford to book the Royal Loft Suite on the Oasis, which, for the 1st sailing, went for $16,659.00 pp..would you book it for the bragging rights?

Check out this Miami Herald article...gonna be a bumpy ride if you want to find a bargain, anytime soon, I guess...

I don't think there's anything afloat or ashore i would book for that kind of money, especially just to say I had done it, or for " bragging rights "

Not looking for bragging rghts here - I think it's a complete waste of money. I can take 2 good cruises for the cost of one on that monster.

To be honest, the more pics and videos I see of it in FLL the less I like the look of it.

It seems, some people are booking at whatever price, to get on the ship. Good for anyone who got great prices a year ago..yayay for them! I bet many many people wich they had...I do know someone that got good rates that far back...

The mindboggling price for this cabin, for a 7 dayer, just amazes me.

Book a Royal loft suite for over $16,000. NO I would not.

The lowest rate I could find on Lady O is $949. for next year. The halloween sailing was at $799. two months ago but that is now gone up.

In 2011 rates are down to $849. Of course then there is Allure sailing at that time too.

Lady O and Allure are going to be very popular ships.

I agree they are going to be very popular especially if their prices come down to match other ships or at least more reasonable. I am more concerned with needing 5,400 people a week right now and 10,800 when the Allure is added. This, in addition to all the other ships out there are a wild number of people in a week. Where are they all going to come from!?!

I don't think the prices will come down to match other ships. And Oasis class does not have to match other ships. They have every right to be priced higher.

I received an email from Ernest my vacation planner from NCL with rates of $299. for 7 nite cruises. Will Oasis ever match that price - Never.

(and since when do I have a vacation planner from NCL )

With this slow economy many ships (all lines) are not sailing full and that will go for Oasis too.

I predict Oasis and Allure will do very well. Many families from all around the world will want to sail on an Oasis class ship.

I myself have family and friends in Croatia that are awaiting my return from Oasis for a full report. Before they spend the $ and take the 10 hour connecting flight to FLL they want to hear what Oasis is all about. If I give them the green light when I get back they will go ahead and book it.

I have no doubt you are correct to an extent. I agree that the pricing on these 2 ships cannot be compared to other ships however the public will do exactly that...........it's human nature.

As for people from all over the world, yes, I agree with that however there just won't be thousands and thousands of people who will or can do it every week especially those from other countries. Add on air and hotel for a family of four and the cost would be something you would do once every 5 years or so certainly not every year.

I also compare to AI in the fact that people do not go back to the same places year after year.

Overall, I don't think you will ever see thee ships truly sail full. I"m not trying to be a doom and glooms just realistic. Heck I would love to sell all my clients on these ships - better commission but I do know better.

As much as I would love to, just no way, a nice balcony cabin suites me just fine.

Don't count out the Euporeans alot of them do travel alot and have the funds to do so. But then again there are those that don't have travel in their budget can only take a trip every so often or none at all.

Since Lady O is priced high does she need to be filled to the max to be profitable? Maybe all the overpriced cabins are taking care of the cabins that are empty?

$16,000 for a cabin is too high for one week. However there will always be cruisers than can and will book it. I don't see a $16,000. cabin being booked week after week though.

Oops...My above posts stated the cabin is $16,000. But it is really $16,659.

Can't forget about the $659.

Many Europeans are cruising on our ships because of the weak dollar.

A cruis vacation is usually much cheaper than a European land vacation.

That's not really true. They are being charged more for cruises when booking in Europe. The cost of getting to the US to pick up the cruise is a high expense as well as having to stay at hotels etc etc.

What has actually happened is Europeans are now travelling more outside their norm than ever before but they are certainly not paying less.

Yep it's not cheap for Europeans to travel. But they are out there taking all sorts of trips and enjoying life.

Interesting all the Royal suites on the website are listed as not available online please call for availability. This is for the week of 3/14.

You have to call to book these cabins? Prices won't come up.

Sometimes when they are low on cabins in any particular category they will have you call directly. It certainly isn't to tell you they are lower. lol

I will go on the Oasis, but right now the ports don't excite and the price is too pricey. I waited to go on the Freedom class ships.

I am interested in the Epic which will probably be my next new ship cruise.

Not that it matters I have no plans on booking the Royal suite anyway.

Epic has some really good rates.
