Default What time did you Board FOS??

We will have no priority boarding since we are still only GOLD. What time can you plan on being able to board FOS at Cape Canaveral?? We are doing an Eastern Cruise. We like to get there as early as we can and need to arrange transportation for a huge group.

When would you show up at the port??

Thanks,

Linda A

We showed up at 11am as usual. Windjammer Buffet is open to new passengers at 11.30am, so that is where we head to- you will not have access to your cabin until 1pm.

tell me all you can about FOS....... we will be on RCCL for Christmas & we are normally Carnival cruisers. I am so excited, I think there will be ALOT more to do for my 14 & 18 year olds. We have rooms on the 8th floor with windows over looking the promanade deck. I have read there are parades and such to watch out the window etc. is that something that is posted in the daily capers?

I am also curious about what are their options for daily dining besides the buffet. I loved carnivals deli & mexican bar they had everyday for lunch.

Also... we have sprint cell phones, we were told we have free texting whenever there is ANY signal. We dont have roaming charges for texting but any phone calls we make it is 2.49 per minutes which we will not need.

Is the flowrider opened all day every day or just on sea days?

Thanks for any tips you can send my way.

Maryhou,

Freedom is a great ship you should be excited! :-D

The kids will have a blast! Most teens love Freedom Classs ships.

Had a promenade stateroom twice. And yes you can watch the parade from the cabin however I did prefer to go out to the promenade to watch.
The time of the Parade will be listed on the Cruise Compass.

You might want to check out Cafe Promenade for sandwiches and pizza.
Johnny Rockets is popular with teens. There is a charge however for JR.

The flowrider is not open all day you will have to check the compass for times each day. Flowrider can get very busy during peak season cruising so expect a wait.

The teens have a Teen deck party one evening and it is alot of fun for them. They use the pools/hot tubs/flowrider for the evening.

There should be alot of families on the Christmas sailing so there will be many teens onboard for your kids to meet.

Must do - Parades, The Quest, 70's nite, Ice Show.

Enjoy your cruise!!!

Marylou,

You will be on the ship before us. We take off on Jan. 3rd. We love RCCL. We have been on Carnival too but really love RCCL. Your kids will love it. There is so much more to do. Have them get involved in the teen groups for their ages right away. There should be a ton of kids on the cruise to meet.
I looked at Carnival Dream and their big claim to fame was the outdoor movie theater. RCCL has soooooo much more. We can go to movies or watch tv at home.

Enjoy and then pass on your info to me!!

Thanks,

Linda A

Be sure and watch the parade on the first night down the Promenade. Get a place outside the pub for the best position.
Do not miss the Ice show, it is fabulous.
You can watch the parades from your room, but those windows are pretty soundproof, so you won't hear any of it.
Pizza bar at the Promenade cafe is a popular place with kids, open 24hrs.
Flow rider is open several hours a day- you have to sign a waiver for minors to ride. If you have girls make sure they wear shorts and a t shirt- bikinis will get dragged off/down in the force of the water.
Do not miss Quest game
