That is so sad and such a young girl.
Heartbreaking and difficult times for her family.

Sad ti say, but I'm inclined to believe that posting. It's terrible the way they do things in India when it comes to dowries and wives. There was quite a write up just a few weeks ago in a Toronto paper about just such happenings.
The Indian families of males just have no respect for women.

This is a very sad story and one that is hard for me to understand. There are "cultural" differences but there is no justification for abusing someone even if they didn't live up to the arranged marriage agreement.
I believe the husband should be charged with murder. He didn't push her overboard but his actions are what made her jump.
Take care,
Mike

They should push him overboard.. what a nightmare that poor lady was living. No wonder jumping off the side of the ship seemed like the only relief she could expect.
How sad this is. I too have trouble understanding this. How horrible. This man is clearly responsible for her actions. How sad it is that she felt that this was her only option.
