I read that I can take care of pre-paid tipping prior to my upcoming trip; can I arrange pre-paid tips with customer care while I am on the ship? And if so, Can I specify can I specify who and what I pre-pay?
I don't anticipate eating at the Main Dining room every night, so I want to be sure I tip accordingly for the numer of nights I do dine there.
If you chose to pre-pay you cannot designate who gets what. They will apply all the daily recommended amount and it will go the way they say.
If you want to give a gratuity to particular people, you are better off doing it yourself.
I am no fan of pre-paying gratuities. To me they are a thank you for a job well done and that job isn't done in advance.
As is pointed out by others, the same people work in the mdr and wj.
I don't believe in paying the head waiter who only comes around on the last night with his hand out. There have been times when our asst. waiter has been better (much better) than our waiter and we give gatuities accordingly.
Everything is your choice of course, but in answer to your question, no you cannot pre-tip for certain people and certain amounts only.
