Suz would like to ask any non smokers who have traveled on the Oasis
how they felt concerning the public smoking areas.
Did you come away from the cruise feeling like you were subjected
to unwanted smoke in areas where you feel it should not have been allowed?
We're specifically curious about areas that are partially outdoors such as
the boardwalk or Central Park. We expect it in the casino... just curious
about other areas.
Thanks
Mike & Suz

Hi Mike and Suz,
I would think Oasis would be the same as Freedom, certain areas for smoking and that is it...Not on the boardwalk or Central Park. Did you encounter smokers lighting up in areas that they shouldn't? I certainly never noticed that, they seem to use their areas and not infrindge on non-smokers. I think you should be OK.
Since Oasis has so many outdoor areas such as Boardwalk, we wondered if those
would be considered smoking areas or not. We called Royal to ask and they couldn't
answer the question.

Even if they did allow smoking in the boardwalk, most likely it would be a section on one side. Rule of thumb here, just look for anywhere that has ash trays out, thats a giveaway, but I just can't see it allowed in there, may-be someone that has cruised on her can tell us for sure.
The smoking bothered me greatly in the Promenade areas. I couldn't go in Bolero's and the Schooner Bar, as well as the Pub, but was told that the Pub was non-smoking so not sure why, when I was there, people were smoking. I did not go into the casino as I don't gamble but I heard there is a non-smoking area down there if indeed you do gamble.
The area around Sorrentos, Guest Relations and the Promenade Cafe stay pretty smoke free, although I was sitting at a table in Sorrentos one day and smelled cigarettes but couldn't figure out where it was coming from.
I didn't notice cigarette smells anywhere on the Boardwalk or in Central Park and I spent most of my time in these two areas, Central Park especially.
