Default New to Price line-need help

We are planning a cruise out of Vancouver in September 2010. Never went with price line, but have seen that people on this site had used it before. I'm a little nervous about a hotel being assigned rather than my selecting one. My husband feels any 4 Star hotel in downtown Vancouver has to be good. Not sure what bid I should start with. Has anyone named their own price and booked through price line? What bid was accepted and what hotel was assigned to you?

Next cruise out of NJ, my home port, no research or hotel needed there.

I have used Priceline before, just do your homework, sounds like a 4 star downtown would be a good start. You can pick a price you'd be happy with and either they accept it or reject it. Good luck and hope you get a super hotel.

Go to biddingfortravel.com and read the posts about Vancouver. You may be able to find out what bids people won, and for what hotel, and date.

This helped me get the Renaissance Hotel in Fll last Oct, for $59.00 a night....with the info you cull from the site, at least you are not bidding so blind.

Try Better Bidding or Bidding for Travel websites, you get a lot of pointers as to which zone/star rating to select. I used it very nervously and got the Intercontinental Chopin Place Miami for $90 when the rack rate was $249 so I was pleased. Read lots before you bid.
