RCI Platinum Perks

We will be taking our first cruise as Platinum members in January 2011. What extra perks do we get to enjoy? What is the private departure lounge?

I enjoyed the robe's i got to use while on board as well.. Usually in the past i got a coupon booklet in my stateroom for money off drinks photo's, casino etc..

If you are in a balcony or better you are entitled to a discount. Other than that, there isn't much of anything anymore. They have basically removed 90% of the perks.

really i never knew that.... So if you book a ocean view or a interior the member discount book's you receive are different?

You will still receive a discount book but it doesn't have near what it used to. You have to spend a fair amount of money to get anything. The Johnny Rockets coupon is gone, the free picture coupon is gone, the free drink coupon is gone. Not much left.

I may not have made myself clear - when I said you get a discount in a balcony or higher I meant in the cost of the balcony, eg $100 for 7 days etc.

However, I find that's about the same on any of the cruiselines who give the discount books.

Well that's just got cool that the below items are gone, those where the one's i used the most....................

What did you use? I just returned from a cruise on Independence, Most benifits are gone!

felix_the_cat February 8th, 2010 04:18 PM

We are D+. The last time we sailed RCL we had buy one drink get free second byt I believe they are gone too. We used to get one free drink each.

The only other one I used was the 10% off logo items when I bought a couple of T shirts.

We were on HAL a couple of weeks ago and didn't use any of their coupons.

YIKES! That doesn't sound like good news. We too have always used the Johnny Rockets and free photo coupons. Not a great way to reward our loyalty to RCI. Thanks for the info everyone.

On my 1/22/10 cruise on Radiance the coupon book didn't have too much in it. There were $5 match play coupons and 1/2 off a specialty coffee from the Latte-tudes bar. Oh yeah! There was a "Free Spin to Win" on their special slot machine. I WON A KEYCHAIN!!!!! :D;)

We didn't use the embarkation or disembarkation lounges. We basically walked directly on from check-in and we had luggage valet/suite and just walked off after 9:00 a.m.

The best thing is the $100 off the cabin price.

Take care,
Mike

I have always as well used the Johnny Rockets, free photo coupons, 10% off logo items, and I believe the buy on get one drinks or something of that nature.. Im quite disappointed that royal Caribbean would stop or make huge changes in there loyalty coupon's.. I wish they would be upfront and explain this in the crown and anchor magazines or email's that you get, or include that information in your paperwork possibility... But then again time's are changing, time's for the cruise line's getting tougher so i guess this is one of the perks that suffer.
