Crazy busy St Thomas?

We were discussing some of this in the cruise chat room last night, and I am wondering if returning eastern itinerary, Oasis cruisers have found the port of St Thomas since the big girl has landed.

I have been in St Thomas several times, when they have closed off the downtown area to all traffic. To be sure it must have been when several larger ships ported, but, I am curious if this has been done when the Oasis arrives bi monthly. One of the stores told me it was up to the govenor to declare the streets closed for the tourists. Its seems a no brainer now that the Oasis, and other larger ships may be in port on the same day.

I also wonder since, over 5,000 more people streaming off the Oasis with money to spend, has made an adjustment in the abilty to wheel and deal pricing. More people usually translates to less bargaining. At least that has been my experience. I also wonder if many experienced cruisers who have been to port so many times, stay onboard to avoid the crowds in town.
