Oasis specialty restaurants booking question

Sailing April 17th. Started out trying to book Giovanni's Table for a couple of weeks now, and nothing happens when I enter my request. I've tried every time slot on every day! I decided to try other venues and the same thing happens. Tonight I tried to get a reservation for Giovanni's at lunch time, thinking perhaps these restaurants fill up for dinner given the ship's population - again, no luck! Is it not possible to reserve until on board ship?

probably just something going on with the site. I booked everything online a month ago no problem. I suggest you book all entertainment online also so you won't be disappointed

Thanks. We were able to book all the entertainment venues about a month ago, so that's a 'go'. We have My Time dining and also booked those times, although I've read some reviews indicating te dining room food isn't all that great.

They hold 30 percent of bookings for people to book onboard. I would get on the ship and head towared the restaurant, you'll probably get a res.

I don't usually know which night I may want to eat at one of the speciality restaurants, so its nice to know I can wait until I'm onboard. I wonder if they get a lot of no shows and then what happens, any penalty?
