Default Oasis Itinerary for Western Carib changed

We are booked for September 11, 2010 on Oasis.
The original itinerary has been changed without any apparent notice to us by Royal Carib.
The Nassau stop originally planned for Friday has been moved to Sunday
and there are now 2 sea days before coming back to home port.
This may or may not affect your plans so check your sailings itineraries!
I know of one woman who is beside herself because she planned to
attend her son's wedding on Friday during the Nassau stop.

Gosh, what a shame for that lady, I'm sure she booked the cruise because of that?? Did they say why the change?

Too bad. One thing I have learned - never ever book a cruise if you want to be on a certain island for any event on a certain day.

Remember - what can go wrong will go wrong.

Yes, that is sad. I know how important our children's weddings are. I hope all turns out well for that lady.

Missed or canceled ports are hardly unusual.

There is always the option for the cruise line to cancel or substitute a port at their discretion without notice.

Many cruisers were disappointed to find out their stop in Roatan was canceled due to high winds last week.

I would suggest the lady cancel her booking and fly instead.

No one really gets notifed, until they look online or get there documents...Planning on attending a special occasion, while on a cruise, is a risky thing...once several years ago, a brides guests were on a cruise, and, due to weather conditions, they sailed by Key West, and the wedding..

I agree, cancel, and fly...

These are all valid points and I have no argument with them.

What I DO have an argument with is the fact that Royal's
web site upon logging in has a tab for messages which was blank
and also a section for itinerary changes which stated NO CHANGES.

That's a load of crap.... it doesn't affect me one way or the other
but why not put these areas of communication to work when
there is a valid reason to do so?

How can they in good conscience change the itinerary and NOT
flag that in the itinerary changes section???? That's poor service
any way you look at it.
