I am trying to book a cruise on Oasis of the Seas. I need help with categories. What do the different letters ABCDE, etc and numbers mean when looking at cabins such as D1, D2, D3, etc? I want to get a good cabin on the best deck and in the best part of the ship
Its always a good idea to look at the deck plans before booking a cabin, then you know where and what catagory you will be happy with. If you don't want a specific cabin #, you can always book a catagory guarantee and get a cabin in that catagory or better, no worse. It does save a few dollars, so ask you travel agent about that.
Always see what is above and below you for noise issues. Sometimes under the pool deck, you get the early morning joggers that you will hear. You don't want to be under any major public areas, that could be noise as well.
All the cruiseline's web sites will have their deck layouts, so check that out first.
What constitutes the "best part of the ship" changes from person to person.
If you wake up in the morning and head straight for the gym, you may want a cabin close to the gym. On the other hand if you head straight for the buffet....
Spend some time looking over the deck plans and always check what is above and below the cabin that looks desirable to you. (Deck plans on Oasis can be a daunting task!!)
