Excursions: Costa Maya or Roatan

Does any one have any ideas or preferences on excursions for Costa Maya or Roatan?
We are leaving on 4/3 and would like any last minute advice on the excursion or shopping?

Costa Maya, take a taxi to the nearby fishing village. Roatan, there is a park, (forget the name) that has monkeys they let you hold. It also has a great beach.

Considered the third best snorkel/scuba location in the world. Island is beginning to experience major influx of Euro money and US money with expensive homes. Population loves cruise ships....had created alot of tourist related jobs. But, if you are any kind of beach person, taxi to the West End and spend a day on the beach....you can rent snorkel gear, or parasail, or catch a water taxi and see the island from the sea side.....
Costa Maya: at the port, lots of shops in a circle around the entrance, or you can do a Mayan ruins tour, or you can taxi/bus to the fishing village and spend the day at a beach, with shops stretching in both directions from where the taxi/bus drops you off...Not probelm getting back, tons of cheap taxis.
