Captains rotate every 10 weeks; so the probabability of the same captain would be low. You can book a future cruise onboard a cruise, you get special onboard credit.

Whether or not it's worth booking depends on several factors. Are you a plat or above? If so, do you normally book balconies? If the answer is yes to both these questions and you are booking a 7 days cruise, then no, it isn't worth your while.

You cannot combine credits so if you have a balcony credit coming because you are plat. then you won't get the OBC that is offered (and the only reason) to take a future cruise credit.

As for your question about formal, while no one is going to stop you from going in the dining room it is courteous to wear the suggested evening attire. However only you can decide what is best for you.
Dec. 13 - Windstar sailing yacht. Wonderful!!

Just completed - Celebrity Reflection, Nov. 22 (learning to sail solo) followed by Independence of the Seas Nov. 30.

44 cruises - too many to list however cruiselines are in no particular order:

and some unknown tub

Yes, I'm a Royal Chump and proud of it.
