Default Next Cruise Certificates

Hello, my wife and I purchased next cruise certificates while we were on our cruise last year. The certificate says we should contact RCI or our travel agent to use them. How do they work? We have booked four cabins on Freedom of the Seas for next year. Is this a stateroom credit? Ther certificate says $200 credit per stateroom. We paid $100 each and have two certificates. Anyone who knows how these work or have used them please let me know. thanks

The Next Cruise Certificate is used to make a booking on RCI and by using the Next Cruise Certificate, you get the onboard credit. The cost of the certificate is applied towards your deposit. The amount of the onboard credit is based on the length of the cruise.

I used our last one for our upcoming Europe cruise. The Certificate cost $100 and the deposit was $500, so I used the Certificate and paid the $400 difference. We have a $100 onboard credit from using the certificate.

If you used your certificate to book your FOS cruise, your onboard credit should be on your reservation. If you didn't use it, just contact whomever you used to book your cruise, RCI direct or your TA, and they can still apply the certificate if you haven't made final payment.

You do have to be careful though because if you are Plat. or above and have booked a balcony or higher you cannot combine discounts using your plat discount along with your next cruise certificate.

This is why they are basically useless to pat/D/D+ who book balcony or above.

In addition, it's one certificate per stateroom so if you bough one certificate only one stateroom will get the OBC.

thanks for the answers, we bought two certificates; but we also booked four cabins, which my wife and I are paying for. She will be assigned to one cabin, and I will be assigned another; our adult kids will have the other two cabins.

I think we had this discussion before between us, but I again disagree respectfully. I am Plat and used our last Next Cruise Certificate on our upcoming Europe cruise and we got both the Plat savings and the onboard credits from the Certificate. I've never had a problem getting that for my clients either.

I think it depends on when the next cruise certificates were bought or maybe they've changed their minds.

I had my travel agent call royal caribbean; here is what we did. I basically signed my next cruise certificate over to my travel agent who faxed it to Royal Caribbean while I was in his office. Royal will apply the next cruise credit towards my cruise. It was simple and painless.

Unfortunately, Next Cruise discounts are not combinable with Platinum discounts. RCCL would not let my wife and me use them both on our upcoming cruise. When you go to Savings Certificates in the C&A section on their web site, it clearly states this. I don't see any advantage in booking a future cruise while onboard anymore. I hope they re-think this policy.

I hear what u r saying. I guess we will use the next cruise certificates for our cruise; as far as booking next time; we will just use the crown and anchor certificates they offer.
Cheers,
