It's definately a port cruise...... But I still love the Southern itinerary. We have gone 2 times and have another booked next March. I love Barbados. I have to agree with Donna, the flight even from Atlanta is longggg but well worth it.

We did the Southern Carribean last July from San Juan on the Adventure of the Seas and it was the best cruise we have ever taken. San Juan is very nice, we went a day early to sight see and stayed a day after, which is a good idea because the airport is very busy on the day the cruise returns. We stayed at small boutique hotels we found on Tripadvisor for less than $100 per night and they were very nice and close to the sights. All of the ports are beautiful, the water is crystal clear, it was a really great trip. The only port we did not feel safe in was St Lucia, People were constantly trying to peddle drugs to us but the other ports were great. We are going again this July on the Oasis. Have fun.

I love the Southern caribbean. Lots of ports and only one sea day. We were on the Seranade OTS last November on a member cruise and had a great time. If you like port days rather than sea days then you will enjoy the Southern Caribbean.

I noticed in fall 2011 Serenade of the seas will still be out of San Juan. Adventure of the seas will be in Europe.

depends on the time of year, if RCCL has trouble filling the ship they unload stupid cheap fares for the locals and your entire trip turns into port of San Juan. You've been warned.
