1. Is Portofino's worth it or is the food in the dining room just as good?
2. My 12yr old would like as much info on the kids club.
3. Exerusions in Bermuda, San Juan and St Thomas or just swim?
4. We have a balcony suite. How is the size compared to Princess or NCL ships?
5. I have read that they no longer have "newspaper updates". Is this true?
Some people rave about Portfino's, I've only eaten at Chops, is there a Chops on Explorer. When I was on they had neither, it was quite a few days ago.
As for the kids club, give it a try the first night and see how they like it, always hear good things about that.
As for excursions, go to their web-site and look through all then, figure out what all you want to do. I'd suggest getting to St. Johns when at St. Thomas, well worth the time and $...Some great beaches, good snorkeling, etc. There are so many to choose from, you need to be picky...
NOt sure about the newspapers you are talking about, I thought you still got your daily compass??
I think you'll love the cabin, always wonderful to enjoy a balcony, go and have a ball.
I have eaten in Portifinos and I actually had the filet Mignon. it was excellent; don't think they could re-produce that quality in main dining room. In San Juan we did walking city tour which included the Old Fort; the tour was just ok; I should have just walked off ship and did a little shopping in old san juan. In St. Thomas did island tour which ended up in downtown shopping area. Nice time. the only newspapers I recall were computer generated compilation of USA Today and New York Times; these were available in the Library, and they went fast; if u didn't know about them being available u did not get one. Thats about all I can answer
