Default Need opinions!

We LOVE Princess Cruises. We just came back from a Carnival cruise that was not what we thought it would be . We'd like to sail from Galveston or New Orleans. What would you (as experienced cruiser's) recommend? Would it be better to cruise Princess, paying big $$ for airfare, or would it be better to drive to Galveston and cruise RCI?

FYI, we've never cruised with RCI. Thanks, in advance, for everyone's opinion ,

Not exactly a reply to your question but if you do go to Galveston , on the way ,stop at Kemah ,specifically the area of the Kemah Boardwalk Inn .I love this area ,there is nothing like it

I have cruised RCL three times and have another cruise booked with them.
I think that you would enjoy RCL as well.

Geographically, where you live, males a difference. You would drive to Texas right? Knowing you will always travel western itineraries, does that make a diiference? They say a modified eastern may come but.........

"If" the cost of flying, does not price you out of cruising from Florida, I would say..pay the price and be happy with Princess or RCI... you have researched, anticipated, & waited for your well earned vacation. You might as well enjoy your cruise in the way that is best for you! Both lines I have enjoyed immensely, I enjoyed Carnival as well

Yes, Trip, we'd probably drive, but it would depend on the airfare to Houston Hobby on Southwest (which we used a few weeks ago for our Carnival cruise). The airfare wasn't much more expensive than driving would have been for that cruise and we saved on hotel, food, etc..

I guess what I'm really looking for is the opinion of someone who's cruised both Princess and RCI.

Have cruised both as well and they both have their strong points. If you like more activities onboard, then Royal Caribbean offers more to do in addition to some great entertainment. I find the food a bit better on Princess and love the Horizon Buffet for both breakfast and lunch, some great dishes and many to choose from.

Then you have to consider the different itinary and choose the one that you want and find the ship that best suits that itinary.

Thanks, everyone ! I don't know why, but I always thought we wouldn't like RCI . I'll check on their fall cruise's and see if there's anything we like.
