I never post when we're going away for any amount of time until we're back home. We also have a house/cat sitter who lives here when we're gone.

I really hate to think that cruise line employees and their "friends" would take advantage of us , but that seems to be what happened.

Unfortunatly, there's really no way to stop this unless you have someone living in your house while you're away. We do!

That's really sad-- but just another way that crooks have of gaining info. from a source to enable them to commit more crimes.
I rarely post on the computer when we're going on a cruise and usually don't mention it to too many people in person. Our son keeps an eye on our place but of course, can't be here all the time.
I know one guy who has a sign on his door stating something to the effect of " Attn. would be burglars-- you may get in, but have you thought about whether or not you'll walk or be carried out?" Signed--.44 Magnum.
So far, he hasn't had a problem.

I do not use my real name any place that I may post nor do I ever post the town I live in. We always have a house sitter when we go on vacation.In 43 years of taking vacations we've never had a problem

Kuki, if I understand it correctly you have a luxury condo in Phoenix. As I have 1st cousins living in Phoenix, I can arrange for them to come by and keep an " eye " on your place--of course we can't guarantee anything won't be missing, especially things like computers, t.v.'s, jewels, etc. They would of course have to come by after dark as they usually just sleep during the day!

Nope, I have a little condo In fact I have had ship's cabins that are bigger than my condo. And they come with butlers. Mine comes with Mrs. Kuki saying .. Get it Yourself!!!
