Default Snorkeling (equipment)

My hubby and I booked our very first cruise on Enchantment at the end of July and are super excited. Hubby had a kidney transplant in December and is doing great, transplant team has given him the okay to go on the cruise, however, he cannot partake of any island food or drink (only on the ship, or bottled water). I guess what I'd like to know is if we would be permitted to bring our own snorkeling equipment for him? We will be stopping in St. Thomas, San Juan, Samana and Labadee ... where would you recommend we would have the best snorkeling experience? Thanks everyone!

Most of the islands you are visiting you can rent the equipment; unless you already own your own equipment; I don't know if I would go out and buy it; also you will then have to pack fins; goggles, snorkel for both of you. St. Thomas has good snorkeling. have you checked which shore excursions Enchantment offers for the different islands; I would expect they list the snokeling excursions.

We always bring our own snorkel equipment and have never had any trouble. Sam's club or Costco has decent equipment at a reasonable price. In Samana I would highly recommend booking the ship's excursion to Catyo Levantado, it was the most beautifuol beach we have ever been to. The snorkeling was great, as was the beach, shopping and beach barbeque. Tendering at Samana is slow as the tender boats are small, with the excursion you get to leave on different tenders and it is a short ride to the island. Not sure about the other stops. Happy cruising.
