Default Western Med Port Guide

We have less than 90 days until our cruise in the Western Med, can anyone recommend a good port guide book? Something with not only what to see, but distances, local customs and how to best get around?

I have always found that the "Lonely Planet" guidebooks are some of the best out there. They show less touristy information and out of the way sites that are often bypassed by other guidebooks.

Take care,

why not go to barnes and noble and look under european cities; they have books listed in the travel section; you should be able to find books with the ports you're gonna hit.

Your library may have some of Rick Steves travel programs on DVD or his books, he does a great job. His website is Rick Steves Europe Through the Back Door

We went Western Med last month. I researched on line and found great info. We went to Pisa and Rome on the train. It is a lot cheaper then ships excursions. My wife was worried before we left but everything ran to plan and we had a great time. We did purchase some maps before we left which helped.
