Default Airport question

We are going on Oasis on October (yea!!) and have been looking at flights. The flights into West Palm Beach International (PBI) are about $200 cheaper than flying into either Miami or Fort Lauderdale. Has anyone else flown into this airport and if so how much is a taxi to the FLL port? Also does anyone have a hotel recommendation to stay at the night before the cruise? With four of us going even a hundred dollar taxi ride is cheaper than flying into FLL.

The hotel that gets the best feedback in Embassy Suites in FLL. I too am looking at flying into PBI verses FLL.

I use the Ramada Inn Cruise/Seaport in FLL for myself and my clients. Rooms don't usually run much over $100 per night, the provide pickup at FLL airport (I know that's not what you are looking at) but they do provide breakfast and shuttle to the cruiseport. For an overnight they are just fine.

I'm sorry I can't answer the question about the cost of a taxi. I can't remember the cost of taxi. When we flew into PBI we did a one way car rental between PBI and FLL. It was less than the taxi and we were able to see a few things before returning the car. I know Hertz has a shuttle between their return area and the port. You can drop off your bags and, if you wish, your traveling companions, return the car and come back on the shuttle. It is less than 10 minutes from the port to and from the rental return.

Take care,
Mike

I just checked Delta Airlines. The price from my hometown CVG-FLL is $214. The price to PBI is $218. At that price I will book FLL.

I am a big fan of the Comfort Suites Airport and Cruise Port on Federal. They have a free breakfast and a shuttle to the Cruise Port. A few good restaurants very near as well. Runs about $129 a night.

After a couple of phone calls the rates from PB Airport, to the port area ranged from $100.00 to $130.00...The port are has some nice hotels....Hyatt Place, Embassy Suites, Pier 66. to name a few.

Right next to Hyatt Place and Embassy are restaurants and shops http://www.theharborshops.com/

Right behind Hyatt Place is, the Outback as well....easy to walk around here, and no rental car needed.
