Freedom of the Seas - Best Deck for a Room?

Hi everyone!

I guess I should mention I have only been on one cruise, and it was the Monarch of the Seas for a 4 night cruise to Mexico out of Los Angeles back in 2003. So I'm kind of a noob! :)

I'll be going on an Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Freedom of the Seas this September. Woo!! I need to pick a room for my Interior room booking, but I have no idea what to pick! I've been given Deck 2 for now. Can anyone suggest a better deck to request? I'm looking for convenience. Is higher better on this ship? How about aft, forward, or middle?

Thanks for any info you can provide!

We personally prefer the upper decks, usually deck 10. We like the convenience of having the Windjammer, pool decks and fitness center only one flight of stairs away. We always book at least a jr. suite and like the views from higher up as well. For some reason we always book on the starboard side (don't know why) somewhat close to the elevators. For an inside room don't know if it really matters since you don't have a window to look out at. If you get sea sickness at all it is better to be on a lower deck closer to the middle of the ship. Enjoy your cruise the Freedom class ships are incredible.

I have to agree with the previous poster, high up has more of the areas of the ship you'd normally use, so anything higher will be a slight time saver as well.

Thanks for the responses! I have ended up with Deck 6, which seems like it will be much better than Deck 2! At least we'll be close to the evening activities (dinner, shows, etc) and the shopping! :)

Great Oanya,
Glad you were able to move up a few decks, enjoy!

I have booked four cabins on deck 10. We like to be able to walk up a deck or two and be at the pool area; or walk a few decks below and be on the Royal Promenade. I don't take the elevator very much.
