Usually around noon you can board. Grab a nice lunch, drop off your carry-ons's and you can even get off the ship and explore for a few hours. They will have dinner as usual.

They will board at the usual time - starting about noon or earlier.

We've sailed from San Juan a few times. It's actually nice to have finished dinner and be on the deck for sail-a-way.

Also, the Adventure of the Seas boards at the Pan-American Pier, not at the cruise docks in Old San Juan.

You can board around noon as previously mentioned, the staterooms will be available at 2:00p.m.. You will have alot of time to explore on your own, the muster drill isn't until 6:00 p.m.. When we went last year our luggage wasn't delivered until after the muster drill so you may want a change of clothes if you have early dining and maybe a swimsuit in your carry-on. Have a great time we loved our AOS cruise.

Remember years ago, when all the ships left around 10:00pm?

I do, I don't know why they changed the time. It really was a nice sail-away.

I also remember leaving the port of San Juan at 10:00, and people will still arriving at 9. When did they change the timer to earlier?

I think it was right around the time that fuel prices went through the roof. I remember someone telling me that the cruiselines wanted to slow down their ships and save money on fuel, so they left earlier and traveled slower.

Yes, when it Serenade sailed at 11 it was much easier for those who had to fly in the day of to make the ship. Then they moved it back to 8 so they could slow down on the way to St. Thomas.

It's still helpful for those that have to fly in the day of.
