You can sign up for the zipline shortly afer you get on the ship. It's not crowded at all because you pick the time that you want to do it. So you just show up at the time that you are scheduled for.

When I cruised on Freedom of the Seas, you didn'thave to sign up for it, just show up when they had the open time on the flowrider...Yea, you had to wait inline for your turn, but it was also fun just watching everyone else.

Oh man, am I glad they didn't have the hot dog place when I was aboard. I do love me some encased meat products and I may have done some damage to myself there. Never did hit the donut shop, or the cupcake place for that matter. They actually didn't look that good to us.

As for the zipline, I don't know if it's changed lately but we were aboard the first 2 sailings and never saw a really long line once for it. Sometimes maybe up to 10 people but that's all we saw. One really neat thing about the zip line is if you happen to be eating in the Windjammer when there's a few people doing the zip, there are a few tables up against the window that are right at the zipline landing zone. All I can say is the faces, and attempts at stopping by some people are hilarious. We were going to go back there and try to take some pictures but we never got around to it.

Seafood Shack, as already noted is $7.95 per person cover which is for a soup or appie, main entree and dessert.
Recommend Solarium Bistro for any meal. Breakfast and Lunch are complementary and nice selection. Dinner was only $15 cover but really good. I recommend the bison filet mignon. Really tasty, much lighter than beef. We also enjoyed Giovanni's Table, Izumi (sushi) and Chops. Chops has revised their menu so much more to choose from.

Sorry but it says the dessert is $3.75 additional on the menu that is posted. Not included.

The zipline is a steel cable that goes across the ship from the aquapark to the Boardwalk area. Oasis and Allure are the only ships at sea that have ziplines.

I did the zipline on the Oasis, now I am looking forward to doing it on the Allure.

If you choose to deviate, that is not an issue, but if you wish to go, it is just so much easier!

Regarding where to hang out, it depends on what you're looking for. For adults, during the day, the Solarium can't be beat! It's beautiful, quiet, seating areas that are open-air, but shaded or in the sun for tanning, pool, jacuzzis. In the evening, I liked the Rising Tide Bar and the Piano bar. The Globe and Atlas (I think that's what it was called) has live music each evening, and was always a fun place.

We sailed on Oasis of the Seas for 2 weeks in April. Loved it, loved it, loved it!

Darlene....when and how do I go about making show reservations for the Oasis?

Once you are onboard, they will let you know when to get tickets. Its just a matter of going down and picking them up for a day/time that fits your schedule....Keep ready the daily paper they leave in your cabin each evening, all the important details are in there along with times and places, etc.

Is it true that on Oasis and Allure you can book shows from your tv in your cabin?

You can book all of your shows & dinner reservations before you board. if you set up an account on their website, you will be able to view all the days and times of the shows and reserve in advance. I already have our week planned out for our Dec. 5th sailing on the Allure. Did Oasis last year and I know that it's better to have tickets and decide not to go then to not have tickets and want to go.

Yes, you can use the TV for many things, but I found the TV to be pretty clunky to use (the "mouse" was very unresponsive, kind of like a joystick plugged in to a VIC 20 computer). But theoretically you can do a lot of things on your cabin TV even surf the Internet.
