Default When you cruise agian what would you do different?

When you cruise again what would you do different?
* Pack different?
* Plan different?
* Pick a different stateroom?
* Pick a different dinning room time?
* Choose a different sailing itinerary?
* Spend less on ?????
* Spend less on photos?
* Drink less?
* Eat less?
* Book a cruise longer than the last one?
* Do more or less in port excursions?
* Stay on board the ship at some ports?

Add your own comments on what you would do more or less. Cruising is fun but everyone has their own do and don't do ideas.

Default Booked for next summer

We just booked FOS for next summer..11 months away. Six of us are going (family) and we've already said, "...on this cruise we will...."
(1) buy less photos, but pose for more to give us better choices.
(2) spend a quiet day around the pool at one of the ports.
(3) drink MORE of the frozen drinks out by the pool.
(4) Book more excursions in advance.
(5) Order more wine to be waiting in our cabin on arrival.
(6) Order BOTH appetizers when there are 2 we love.
(7) Pick a port we can drive to instead of fly (too many hassles; long waits).
(8) pack light (same as last time).
(9) Not stress so much about doing/seeing everything.
(10) Use our older luggage because it gets so beat up (and good luggage suggests good stuff inside while it's sitting in the hallways)
(11) Find porter at the pier when we disembark instead of trying to lug it all ourselves, and tip him well. It hurts enough to be made to leave the ship, then you're snapped back into reality having to drag luggage and load your car.
(12) carry more clothes with an elastic waitband (see #3 and #6).

Texaspepper, welcome to Cruisemates. Good question too!

* Pack different?I started with my last cruise, less is more especially with the fees.:-x

* Pick a different stateroom? we usually pick mid deck near and elevator, this time I have an aft balcony..yay!

* Pick a different dinning room time? The NCL Epic opportunities wil be interesting for sure!

* Choose a different sailing itinerary? we always try to mix it up. this cruise 2 new ports.

* Spend less on photos? we don't take pictures, so I have no worries there

* Drink less? hubby does not drink, & 2 bottles of wine at dinner suffice.

* Eat less? I could make better breakfast and snack choices.

* Book a cruise longer than the last one? 7 days and 2 precruise days works out great for us.

* Do more or less in port excursions? I would like to be more adventuresome in ports.

* Stay on board the ship at Jamaica, & Dominica...we'll see if I add Roatan,and Costa Maya after the Epic!

So, for the most part, we have been happy with our choices......

Trip. . .glad you like the thread and you have provided some good responses. On our T/A on RCL VOTS, our friend had the aft balcony every since we have said we are going do do the aft balcony. Re: Roatan and Costa Maya we just got off and went into the shopping port and came back on board. Costa Maya has a large shopping center with huge open pool in the middle for everyone. Take your own towel. . .just a FYI as we did not do the swim.. .so may kids. Roatan is very poor (if you going on the Epic you will no doubt dock where we docked on the RCL Voyager of the Seas) you have to take the excursions to the other side to see the beaches and resort.
Here is our photos of the ports in question from 01/10/10 RCL
RCL Voyager Of The Seas 01/10/10 Roatan, Costa Maya, Cozumel

Texas Pepper, with your screen name, you will appreciate this story. My husband [a first time gardener] decided we should have a garden, so, off we went to the nursery to select our produce to grow....

We selected: green peas, pickling cukes, tomatoes, and red bell peppers, or so we thought.

This man, diligently watered and babied this garden,and we have had a good crop of the tomatos and cukes. I kept asking about the peppers, I wanted to make stuffed peppers,and he kept telling me, not ready yet.''So, yesterday, he decided to pick one to check it out....

Well,what we mistakingly grew were burning bush, chitchen itza RED HOT PEPPERS!!!!! The miniscule taste he took, sent him to hell and back. 180,000 on the scoville scale..YIKES!

So now, we have about 60 70 of these suckers, anyone need a few?

I am off to view your pictures..thanks!

Yes your DH got Habaneros. . .the hottest pepper you can find. I grow them some summers in a big pot at my house and give them by the bags full to the Mexican lawn men who work in the neighborhood. They love
them.

The photo of the man (yours truly) eating a habanero pepper won the contest at the former Club Maeva Tulum on the Mayan Rivera (where used to go twice a year for a week) by eating and remained standing. The habanero is grown in The Yucatan Peninsula, are yellow and dark green and are rated 100 times hotter than a Jalapeno [hah-lah-PEH-nyoh]. Now you know you know why my screen name and website is called "Texas Pepper." BYW.. .if you have that many, sell them to a produce market. . .they sell for about $5.95 to $6.95 a pound retail.

Happy pepper stuffing

Leave your purchases till last day (Booze and clothing). They always cut prices by a third or more.

LOCK your luggage...we have had many small things go missing when the luggage is unattended in the room on disembarkation, and in the hallways on boarding. There are too many people with access to it for long periods of time.

Check in really early...10:00am.

With you on the locking the bags. . .check in, in your room if you leave items in the bags and always when setting them out in the hall night before disembarkation.

Right on waiting. Have gotten some good bargains by shopping the last day.
