Default Formal Nights - Voyager OTS

If anyone has been on the Voyager OTS Western Mediterranean 7 nighter, what nights onboard ar the formal nights? I know Snoozeman just did this cruise last year, I read his blog, but he only mentioned 1 night as a formal night.

Any 7 night cruise has at least two - one at the beginning and one at the end. I am 99% sure that is what you will find.

The first formal night is probably the first an only day at sea, on Monday. I'm trying to figure out which day is the 2nd formal night. We want to reserve a night at Portifinos for us, but I don't want it to conflict with a formal night.

I cruised Voyager 3 years ago in Western Med (7 nights) and there were 2 formal nights and one smart casual night.
Formal nights were days 2 and 6 and smart casual was day 5. This means that the formal nights probably would be Monday and Friday.
I don't know if it is the same nights this year as the itinerary is different (the last day was a sea day in 2007).

One question though; is it possible to reserve Portofino in advance?
I tried but got the information that it is not possible on Voyagers sailings in the Med.

I'm a bit interested in this as I am cruising on Voyager in October 10 and would like to reserve Portofino for one (not formal ) night.

Not that it matters but we made all the enquiries possible to find out which were the Formal nights on Eclipse for the same reason as you.....we got on the ship & guess what?... different!! Didn't matter though we just changed it.

No, RCI does not have pre-reservations set up for the Voyager OTS for speciality dining. But from experience, I know the best way to get the reservation you want at Portifinos, is that is one of the 1st places we have to visit when we get onboard and grab a reservation quickly. We are just doing some precruise planning.

OK, I was a bit worried that it was just me that could not pre-reserve Portofinos.
I tried to reserve Portofino last cruise with Voyager but I was too late. This time I am planning to board the ship as early as possible and head directly up to Portofino to make a reservation.

From experience, the Spa is also a place to visit right away when you get aboard and make reservations.

Although the Voyager OTS is one of the 4 ships that, according to the RCI website, allows passengers to pre-reserve their Spa appointments, when I tried to pre-reserve, I just got an error message that spa appointments are not currently available on Voyager OTS. So I'll just have to run to the spa when we get onboard.

Thanks for the tip!

The first hour onboard will be busy as there are a lot of places to visit.
I usually try not to be too late to Windjammer, there can be really busy during the afternoon.

You are exactly right Erik, when we get onboard now, we spend the 1st hour going to eat at the Windjammer, check out our cabin and drop bags, and run around and make reservations. It can get to be very hectic. That is why I like to make as many pre-reservations as possible. That is probably a really good thing on the Oasis and Allure OTS!

Atleast we can pre-reserve the shore excusions, that is one stop eliminated when we get onboard.

As you said Scott, the first hour or two can be rather hectic, but after that there are a couple of days to relax.

I'm just looking through the shore excursions. There are some that I might reserve. In some ports I think I will arrange my own trip (by bus, by train, by feet or maybe by rental car).
