Miami Taxis with Kids

Anyone have any reccomendations for taking a taxi/ limo service from the airport (MIA) to the Hotel the night before our Cruise on the Independence. Their will be 4 of us. The children are little 4 and 6.

Our cruise leaves the Sunday after Thanksgiving and we are flying in on Saturday.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks!
Ed

you should have no problem; once u collect your bags go outside of baggage claim to taxi stand; the taxis have a flat rate they charge to go to downtown Miami hotels. They will load your bags in the car. Since u are traveling with little ones u will need a taxi with car seats built in. Normally outside of the taxi stand is a taxi rep who will help you.

I agree, go with the taxi, shouldn't be a problem. Where it the hotel you will pre-cruise at? Does it offer shuttle service to the pier?

We are staying at the Doubletree Grand Biscayne Bay which is on North Bayshore Drive. I haven't talked with them yet to see if they have a shuttle.

Use the regular taxis at the taxi stand outside of baggage claim. The taxi coordinator can help you if you need child seats. The cost will be around $28 with tip.

The Doubletree does not have their own shuttle.

Take care,
Mike

At the Doubletree just ask the front desk, concierge or parking attendant to call/flag you a cab. There will probably be taxis waiting. It will be around $10 for the taxi from the Doubletree to the ship.

Take care,
Mike

Be there at 11am and you will be in the Windjammer by 11.30ish before the rush starts..

I've never seen the Windjammer that crowded that you couldn't get some food, the problem sometimes at that peak time, is finding a table, but even then, you can usually find something. If not, venture outside and find a table there...I would't go elsewhere before boarding, just go find food.

Have a great time.
