Hi C & J mom, Best way to find things out about a ship is to read cruisers reviews. There are a few for Freedom of the Seas....Here is a link to one I wrote after cruising on Freedom, its been a few years, hope it helps: Freedom of the Seas
ok the last cruise we took was a Disney one....we are cruising RCCL Freedom in Sept 2011 (have not cruised RCCL since 1997 for our honeymoon).
What is your best advice for me?
We are on deck 8 in an inside cabin (me, dh, ds (9) dd (7) also cruising with us my MIL and FIL in their own balcony cabin deck 8.
Educate me please
I too will be cruising Freedom; but in December; here are a few things to expect.
1. Freedom is going into drydock in March. Royal Caribbean will be adding a outside movie theater by the pool deck; they will be adding the Dreamworks Experience; by this I mean all the Dreamworks Characters will be onboard for parades, character breafkasts; and other sightings, they will also be adding the computer Naviagtion system. I just came off an Allure of the Seas cruise two weeks ago. Allure has the navaigation screens; they tell you what is going on around the ship; it has the cruise compass on it; and it tells you which resturaunts are crowded and which ones aren't. There will be a navigation screen on every deck; by the elevators. They also will be putting in a 3D movie theater; with 3d glasses; they will be showing all the Dreamworks Movies. Freedom has the H20 zone for kids, and it has the Flowrider, which is a surf/boogie board machine. This should start you out; if you have any more questions please ask; it is about a 50 min drive from Orlando airport to Port Caniveral.
Freedom of the Seas Dec 11
Allure of the Seas: Jan 11
Voyager of the Seas: May 09
Splendour of the Seas: May 07
Explorer of the Seas: Jan 04
Majesty of the Seas Jan 99
thanks for all the info! Donna I read your TR...thanks!
Now for the very sad almost sickening news we got recently.... we OWE the IRS for the 1st time ever AND we are more than likely going to have to cancel our cruise. I am SOOOO sad because having this trip planned was allowing me the opportunity to "dream" and "look forward" to getting away from reality and I was so happy to be traveling with family (have not been able to break the news yet).
I guess I should be happy that I have been able to cruise in the past and will one day again.
Okay, I don't know what type of travel arrangements you will have to make to get there but I think you can get a full refund before final payment is due on the cruise. You can then hold on to your reservation and see if when the time gets closer maybe you can swing it. My problem with that is that we would have to have our flight arrangements pretty far in advance to get the best deal. Our boys are older but they love to cruise and one summer they donated their mowing money into the cruise fund. Any extra money went into this fund.
WE are dreaming of another one.... By the way that last cruise was on Freedom. We had A Wonderful time.
