Default I'm booked, I'm Booked, I'm BOOKED!!!

Hello all! Squeeeeeeeee! I just got off the phone with a certain CruiseMates-recommended TA, and my babies and I are going to be on the Allure, May 27, 2012, Eastern itinerary. We're in Inside cabin 3838 (a lucky omen, as 38 is my current age) and I am so excited I could just pass out!

Off to start a roll call for my sailing now. You guys are gonna get so tired of me!

I'm booked, I'm Booked, I'm BOOKED!!!! Yaaaaay!

Congratulations, you picked one of the best ships out there. The other one is the Oasis.

We have sailed on both of them and we loved them both.

We got off the Allure less than a month ago and booked the Oasis again for april 2012.

Good one, Kuki! :P

Yes, the waiting and the trying to go on with normal life and not obsessing over details I can't even begin to finalize for months are going to be the hardest part.

Still excited, though!

I sailed Allure this past Jan. Amazing ship; so much to see and do. I kept telling myself I was on a cruise ship. When we docked in Nassau we were the biggest ship in port. Our cruise director Alan Brooks said all the ships in port were selling shore excurions to come see our ship; it is that amazing.

Default I so get you

I booked my cruise on March of 2010 for a cruise on June 18, 2011. I have found that I have saved a bunch of money...about $300 a person. My count down was over 456 days to start; I am now under 100! My two best friends and I are taking the Liberty of Seas out of Barcelona for a 7 day Mediterrean Cruise.

I am offically a planner. I looked at every possible cruise line and itenerary, the cost of rooms, the stops, the amenities, the cost of excurisions. I really wanted to go to Russia but after running the numbers; it was going to cost to much. Also, my friend works at a national lab and has security cleareance and would have to get approval from the US government. It wasn't worth it.

Let me tell you everyone knows when and where I am going and why. I turn 40 in December. I have used my budget to show students how budgets work and I will use it again when I come back to teach variance.

I also talked to lots of people who had gone on a lot of cruising to find out information about what to do and what not to do. Research is key. I found out that you can fly into Venice and Fly out of Barcelona for the same price as a round trip ticket to Barcelona and the airfare from Venice to Barcelona was 84 dollars, if you book early. NO Kidding. Of course being the planner I am I decided I wanted to spend time in London. It cost me $124 dollars for a one way ticket from London to Barcelona; the airfare has doubled in price. I also booked my hotel rooms in January. The hotel we are staying at in London -- Crowne Plaza has sold out. The hotel we are staying at in Barcelona has no more triple rooms. Everyone laughed but who is laughing now. People thought that waiting to the last minute was the way to go and it can be but not when you want certain things. There isn't another 4 star hotel in Victoria that sells for under $160 a night.

I have looked at excurisons several times. I think I have finally narrowed down the side day trips. I have also looked at the websites for those towns and found out great travel information; like I can do my own walking tour...transporation to Rome is $89 and their our downloadable walking tour guides for you IPOD for free or in your tour book. I don't have to tip a tour guide (10 to 20 dollars a person). Also, you can buy prepay for your entrances into things like the Forum; skip the line and sometimes they give you a discount if you buying on line. I found a London Pass and Travel Card for London that cost $220. It covers almost all my sight seeing and travel on the underground for 7 days.

Anyway, I know we will both be having FUN!
