Default On board credit

This is my 2nd cruise and I have yet to figure out how to get on board credit. I booked and paid online thru royal caribbean's site. Someone tell me how to get the little "extras" please.

Thanks

Guess I am a bit confused...What exactly do you mean by little extras? Many times, through a travel agent, you will get an obc, especially as part of a group incentive. Other travel agent might have a bottle of wine as a thank you gift...Give us a bit more info..

Usually if you book another cruise while on board, they will offer some On Board Credit. That is the only way we have ever gotten it. As far as anything else, never gotten anything except we got upgraded to a balcony a few cruises ago and for some reason things kept showing up in our room all week. I think the couple that cancelled had purchased different things and we got them..

I got a small amount once on a 5 day cruise as part the the mailed magazine (coupon) for crown and anchor society. Now it seems, they no longer have the magazine because I never get one anymore. But I do see them in the emails I get from time to time.

Some cruise lines, such as Carnival give you obc every time you cruise if you own 100 of their shares. The amount given depends on the length of cruise, and can only be used for one credit per stateroom.

Other ways, as already advised were to book on board, or simply compare TAs & ask them what incentives they are offering over other deals that you can get.

As for free upgrades, do the US based ships offer Guaranteed Grades, wherby you get to choose your stateroom grade, but not the actual stateroom. You are then guaranteed a stateroom in or above the grade of cabin that you have paid for. Note you are not able to refuse the room offered, so this is best not used if yuo prefer a certain area on board.

Hope this gives you some insight.

Alan & Katrina.

You would of had to had any credit at the time of booking. Once you are booked, chances are, you will not get any credit. Some agents will add that to get people to book through them, either with a group of some other special. Once you are booked, there isn't a way to just get credit added to your booking. Now, if it was included when you booked, you will see it on your account once you are boarded on the ship.

Call the cruise line and tell you want to buy some OBC.
I do this with most of my cruises. I determine what the basic
amount I need for the cruise and then add a little extra

Works out to
Basic $20/day for 14 days = $280
Extras $20/day for 14 days = $280
Total = $560
Will buy about $600

Royal does that as well. I have using that perk for quite some time.
