Do any of you travel agents or members know why RCCL does not display available Inside rooms on Oasis or Allure? I keep watching prices in case they should ever go down... but when I want to check Insides or OV they are "not available for purchase online". aaargh! It seems to me the ability to purchase online would save them paying phone staff to do it.
More than likely they are tied up in an inventory hold. If rooms are available, they will show up on the web. The rooms are probably on hold for group bookings or have been sold out.

There are not that many inside cabins on those ships. Also many people book their next cruise while on board, so I would say that tose cabins sell out fast.

A good idea to check with a travel agent, some of them hold group space, so they look like they are unavailable, plus they are the first to sell out...
I don't think they are booked, not every cabin on every sailing - it seems to be a policy that they don't sell OV/Insides online for Oasis or Allure. Any TA's know why?
Every other RCCl ship you can buy them...
There are SO few inside cabins on these ships (about 1% of the total) that they cost almost the same amount as a balcony cabin. They actually could easily be booked for the next year.

I don't know what particular sailing you are checking on. I just pulled up numerous sailings this summer on both Oasis and Allure and found available inside and oceanview cabins. I looked them up on the RCCL website and on cruise match (the system we TA's use for RCI, Clelbrity and Azamara) and found available inside and OV rooms. What particular cruise are you checking on?

I am right now looking at the RCCL screens, for June 18th or August 6th on Oasis. You can select the cruise, then put in No of pax, and residency, then go to the next page to Show options and you will not get any Insides to show, it always says Staterooms are not available to book online. I have looked at multiple other dates, same thing... am I missing something?
June 18 - inside guarantee - with taxes etc $1,307.40 US. per person.
Thanks- maybe your access is different to mine? I cannot get Insides to display- I can only get as far as show options then I get the same screen each time .... maybe I will try from a different location.

From the RCCL website, August 6th on the Oasis OTS, the only inside staterooms left are Promenade staterooms at $1403.97 US per person with taxes and fees included.

That was actually from RCL's cruisingpower - TA site. But as they do have guarantee's I don't understand why you can't pull one up on their outside webpage. Are you looking for 2 persons?

Its amazing to me that an inside room can go for almost $1500. That is so crazy but I guess the best ships can get away with it. I wonder if in a year or two the Oasis and Allure pricing will be more in line with the rest of the fleet.

I've been looking for 3, but I'll check and see whether 2 pax cabins come up.
I can't get guarantees - any insides, at present..
ETA- looking at 6th August.... no, it says categories are omitted because they aren't available for online booking.
I give up. They are making it too difficult.

That information answers the question. Not all, in fact very few, inside staterooms allow more than 2 guests. I'll bet if you just put in for 2 guests, some inside cabins would probably come up. If all the inside cabins that will fit more than 2 passengers (called triples and quads) are sold out, that is why they are not coming up for you. What the web site is telling you when it says that they are not available online, is that RCI currently has no cabins available that meet the requirements you put in to do your cabin search that you can book, but if you call them you can get on a waitlist and if/when a cabin that fits your needs opens up with a cancellation, they will contact you and give you the option of booking it.

Yes, I did try for 2 pax yesterday but gave up trying.
Thanks for the help though.v
At the moment I am just sort of window shopping to see if/when prices will come down a bit- we have to go during school/college breaks so prices are always higher. When they come down I will just have to call them and see what's available I guess.
sorry you have so many problems; I plugged in aug dates for Oasis on Royal's website; it came back with inside promenade staterooms only for sale.

Just don't wait too long, always a chance that the prices will go up depending on the sailing.. You may just have to bite the bullet and get what is available now before there is less to choose from...
Ture - you're looking at August especially. That will be premium time. Don't forget you can book now and if the price goes down before final payment you can get a price reduction.

That price may seem high, but compared to a land vacation it's qiute reasonable. Just for food and lodging in paris for two nights, we spent about $1000. and now the US dollar is worth even less against the Euro.

You comparison has to be between ships and the Allure and Oasis are priced quite a bit higher than any of the others. I think this will continue for another year or so but then things will changes.
These two ships are something everyone should do once, but in talking to a lot of clients and friends who have done it (and myself included) there will not be a second time.
When on a ship I want a cruise - that is what I'm hearing. Taking a cruise means seeing the ocean, watching the sky, pulling into the docks. That really doesn't happen on these two ships unless you go out of your way. Way out of your way.
I believe that within 2 years there will be difficulty trying to fill them - certainly at the present pricing. I also believe that same reasoning has to do with why they will be the only 2 RCL ships sailing the Caribbean in the summer months.
However, it is my opinion and I've been wrong before.

These two ships are something everyone should do once, but in talking to a lot of clients and friends who have done it (and myself included) there will not be a second time.
Two possible reasons for this are: Royal Caribbean is currently offering balcony cabins for the price of interior cabins on select sailings of the Allure and Oasis ships. If the cost of an interior cabin is the same as a balcony, why even advertise the interiors? The ships have far more balcony cabins than interior ones because of the way they are designed. This leads to the second reason - plain old availability. These ships are very popular, but quite a bit more expensive than other ships with similar itineraries. Given the bad economy those who really want to experience these ships (and they ARE an experience!) are comprising - foregoing oceanview cabins to save money, but still going on the cruise. A travel agent could check this for you more thoroughly, many TA's have group space held which is not available to the general public.
