Amid Controversy Royal Caribbean announces the first MaryJane Lounges at Sea
Royal Caribbean announced today, amid much controvery, that effective by week's end, MaryJane Lounges will be opened on all ships in the fleet.
Though critics are questioning the legality of such a move, and condeming the possible consequences, Royal Carnibbean has been advised by their legal department, that allowing the sale of consumption of marijuana when the ship is in international waters, is legal, and will greatly enhance their guest experience.
Though, the experiment will be monitored closely to track the affect the opening of the Mary Jane Lounges will have on their food budgets.
Was it mentioned if you could buy the marijuana in the lounge or is it BYOP (Bring Your Own Pot)?
Also will they have a variety of blends and varieties? I imagine there will be a huge price difference between Jamaican Red and Royal Caribbean's own "Ditch Weed of the Seas."
I know it's going to be a huge revenue generator. It may even surpass the photo department.
Take care,
Mike (Who really has the munchies)

I realize Royal Caribbean wants to reach a new segment of potential cruisers, but does this make any sense? RCCL has the reputation of being upscale compared to Carnival, yet they are going to do what many would expect a "fun"ship to have.

The Mary Jane bit was a joke, but if they did have MJ lounges, they would be a hit.
