I am in Victoria B.C. to visit Radiance in the shipyard. She was in dry dock until three days ago.
All the cabins are getting new flat panel TVs (is there really any excuse not to have these anymore?). There will also be "digital signage" to help you find your way around the ship in every stairwell, as on Oasis. Wi-fi will be stretched to cover the entire ship.
Yesterday we got a complete tour of the ship, even the crew area, and she is going to be a very nice ship. They are especially upgrading the dining options, adding some really nice spaces.
My favorite will be the new Park Cafe in the Solarium. You may have tried the Park cafe on Oasis or Allure. It is a delicious deli where you can get samwiches and other treats (muffins) all at no no cost. But the best part is the locale. The Solarium is beautiful and this will be a very fun place.
They are adding a pub similar to the ones on the Royal Promenades on thre bigger ships - with a small stage for an entertainer, and a big selection of ales.
They are adding Giovanni's table, and Samba's the Brazilian Churasscuria.
They are also upgrading the entire ship with new carpet in many places. They are adding three singles cabins (no supplement) and six more oceanview staterooms.
There is a new diamond lounge for C&A society members, And they are upgrading the movie theater to 3D.
There will be new babysitting services down to age 6 months. - Oh heck, just read my article on the front page of CruiseMates. But it looks to be a very nice ship.
I am the editor, but I also speculate, ask questions and play devil's advocate. I reserve the right to change my mind.
