Default Rock-Climbing on FOTS

Is there a minimum age? Do they enforce it?

My son is almost 4, but he's tall and looks more like 5 or 6.

He's comfortable with rock-climbing. He routinely climbs a 9 ft wall at our TKD gym without harness.

Is there a chance he'll be allowed to climb on the ship?

He was excited to this on Carnival Dream, but was not allowed (he was 2.5 at the time!). He's been practicing at Tae Kwon Do, but now I'm afraid his little heart will be crushed.

Well RCI says that the age restriction for the rock wall is 6 y/o. I also think there is a height requirement but I'm not sure about that. I'm honestly not sure how strict Royal Caribbean is about this but it might be something you can ask a crew member about when you're on the ship.

Hope everything works out!

I'd much prefer the height restriction! He's taller (at 3) than most 6 year olds!.

At least it's "close". However, if they ask him his age, he'll tell them

There is an age limit, they have to be over 6 for the rock wall. For the Flowrider it's a height restriction ,IIRC 52ins. They can Ice skate provided they are with an adult.

I'm sorry to say....he's going to be disappointed. They enforce the age limit. They have his age upon check in based on either his birth certificate or passport you provide. You as a parent sign a waiver "if" he's of age.

Our first cruise, my youngest was due to turn 6 the Sunday "after" getting off the ship and they wouldn't bend for her. They said if she was due to turn 6 while on the ship, they would let her.

There is plenty of other things to do, but he won't be able to do the rock wall.

Serenity, thank you, that helps.

I don't mind when they enforce the rules if they are consistent all the way around. I remember on Carnival Dream ... my daughter was crushed because she didn't make the ht restriction for the tall waterslide. The problem was that they did not start enforcing the height restriction until Thursday of a Sat-Sat cruise. We had a cancelled port, and they were upset because they didn't get to go to the beach ..... and then as a kicker, she gets kicked off the water slide. I'd have rather they never let her on in the first place.
