I booked our excursion to Tulum through Royal Carribean. However, I was wondering if it was a good idea to book my other excursions on the other islands directly with the excursion company? I realize they cannot guarrantee getting us back to the ship on time, but if it is the same tour as Royal Carribean uses, does it matter? It seems you may get a cheaper deal booking direct. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Hi MJ, It just takes doing a little homework and finding an excursion you want. You would be booking with a different operator than the cruiseline. A lot of the time, you can just get a cab and go where you want...
In the Caribbean, I just grab a tour once off the ship. What makes me more comfortable is we take early excursions, then get back on, to enjoy the ship, less crowded. This way, in my mind, if there is an issue with the excursion, we have plenty of time to get back onboard.
