Question My Time Dining - Solo??

I am wondering about how My Time Dining on Royal works if you are alone. Princess tends to seat you at a table with other people to fill up the table and will not seat you alone in the main dining room because all tables are for 6-10.

My friend said that Royal seats you alone if you go to the dining room alone. Has anyone done the My Time Dining on Royal while traveling solo? Will they seat you with other people if that is what you choose?

I'll be on Royal in a few weeks and I will keep an eye out and see what they do. I would almost bet that if you want to be at a table with others, that is what they will do....

I had confirmed MTD reservations - they told me to 'go away'. Good luck!

I've gotten tables for myself..(and tables for 2) on several RCCL ships with MTD with no issue..you may have to speak to the maitre d and/or dining room manager...but i have never had an issue

you can go ahead and make reservations (when it opens up on line...you can also email the dining people but i forget the email address...something like rccl_dining at rrcl.com but i am not 100% on that..

OR you can tell them you'd like to eat with others...

I had with me an email confirming my reservations for MTD - they advised me I did not exist and to go away. I ate in my cabin - I did order from the dining room menu. It was just easier and I like a quiet life.

This was just one incident in an Royal Caribbean error week - they made mistakes with visas etc and I had to confirm independently who I was when trying to disembark.

Looking back it is very funny - problem is that my given name on my passport is two names - their computer system can't handle that.

I should add I did not eat in WJ because the same reheated seafood pasta dishes were served 3 evenings in a row. Coincidence or not - there was a major norovirus outbreak on board.

I did enjoy my holiday but not the ship.

I would not ask Royal to organise a children's birthday party because that is way beyond their capabilities IMHO.

Annie

BTW the Captain disembarked the vessel early. You could not have written the script.

You say you've done it alone and for tables of 2, but what about if you wanted to be seated with a group of people? My friends say they will not do that unless their is a group at one of the tables with an extra seat who approves. I do not want to end up at a table for 8 by myself.

guess i didn't understand...i don't like to eat with others unless i am already friends with them...sorry.

but i have read and heard from people that they'll seat you with others...however, IME, My Time Dining has smaller tables...you may want to just get traditional dining so you can sit with a group...
