So, are the meals included IF we eat in the main dining room only, OR do they charge for meals EVERYWHERE on the ship? Obviously, you can tell we haven't been on a cruise for quite some time. I figured a "seasoned" cruiser would be able to give us the straight scoop about what to expect regarding meals onboard. Thanks!!!

Carlee55,
First, welcome to Cruisemates and the world of cruising.
To answer your questions, meals are included in your cruisefare when you eat in the main dining room for any meal, the buffet in the Windjammer Cafe for any meal, and order room service (except for between the hours of around midnight to 5am when there is a small charge for room service) are all included and will not cost you any additional. Also, the snacks and food in places like the Promenade Cafe, the burger grill on the pool deck and the pizza place are also included at no additional costs.
There are some places that will charge an extra fee if you decide to eat in the "specialty restaurants", like Portifinos, Chops Grille and Johnny Rockets. You are certianly never required to eat in any of the specialty restaurants, it's up to you. When it comes to drinks, you will need to pay for sodas, specialty coffees, beer, wine and hard liquor. However, drinks like lemonade, ice tea and coffee are included and free.
Feel free to ask as many questions of the veteran cruisers here on the board, we love to help out new cruisers!
