Question Rooms When Going Solo???

Hello everyone, I'm DIEING to go on another cruise from RCCL after my first one was sooo much fun! However I'm came across a small problem. I can't find anybody that wants to go with me ! As much as I want someone to go with me, I'm not about to opportunity slip away because I have to huff it alone!

So what happens when you books an interior room for 1 person??? I've heard things like the price doubles or you could be roomed with someone else. Does anyone know or have experience????

If it helps heres some info about the trip that I'm planning on:
Ship Name: Freedom Of The Seas
Departure: March 4 #7 night trip)
Departure Port: Port Canaveral, Florida
Ports of Call: Florida; Haiti; Jamaica; Grand Cayman; Mexico
Interior room: $699

First answer, no you are not automatically paired into a cabin unless you book specifically with a singles cruise.
Most lines double the rate for a solo, but pay once for taxes. I booked solo on Carnival, paid double. I just added a roommate, and her taxes were added to the total.
Do a fake booking for inquiring purposes to find out the supplement on your chosen cruise to get the dollar amount on that cruise. I just did one for a Celebrity cruise I was interested in. There was a 50% supplement vs 100%.

I ran into the same problem.

My solution: go alone!

Issues: The price is DOUBLE. But, if you are lucky (as I was) you may notice the price drop right before the cruise and get a free upgrade (I def used the single supplement for leverage)
RCI does not offer a "pairing" program, but you could get the cruise and hope someone else wants to join you via this forum.

Check other lines for single supplements, you might just get lucky!

Wink Thank you!

I figured the price might double . I'll look into doing a fake inquirey and see what it says & I just made a post on another thread here looking for a roomate.

Thanks for all your help!!!

sometimes it is double, sometimes less...but you still only pay one set of taxes/port charges and 1 set of gratuities...

and cruising solo isn't bad...i really don't mind it. Of course i'd much rather my mom was still here to go with me..... but i still love to cruise....

and keep checking the price...sometimes you can get a price drop..as long as it is before final payment.....but price drops are a whole other topic...

f you like Royal Caribbean...

Radiance of the Seas now has six single cabins - no extra charge. It is now in Alaska and going back to Mexico, but soon going to Australia.

But it is a good deal.

Or look into the Studio Staterooms on Norwegian Epic, or on the new Project Breakaway ships.

Wink Thanks!

I never got to go on a cruise with my mom, but she loved them, so I know we would have had a blast!

Thanks for the insight Paul, i'll check that out!!! Royal Carribean is my first cruise line but I have thier credit card & i'm a member of thier little club, so i'd love to take advantage of my perks!
