iPhone at sea

I have another question that I have not seen addressed anywhere. Will my Iphone work at sea, specifically the internet and texting? I know in Mexico even with an AT&T plan for Mexico, it was costly. I would rather not take my laptop but like the idea of being able to check my phone once a day or so. Thanks for the advice in advance!

Yes Kuki, you were right, very helpful but also pretty darn funny too!

I will indeed be turning it off. I think its actually pretty liberating for those of us who have to live with our phones attached to our hips! Thank you

I travel overseas for my job. I always turn off the 3G and cellular data; don't want to get hit with hidden, or bogus charges; especially txt msgs. I usually use hotel wifi which works great for me

When I looked at my iPhone on the first sea day I had received a (free) text message explaining all the charges and fees.

IMHO--the texting is cheap, the telephone expensive.

Snoozman, thanks for your answer; I have never left my iphone on long enough to get a txt msg; maybe next time I will leave it on and see what the charges are; I go to Europe a lot; so am curious as to the charges.
