December double points
I know it is early, but has anyone heard if RCCL will be doubling points again this year in December.
|
I've just heard about this earlier on a post and have looked all over Royals site and don't see anything. Perhaps it is a seperate email they send to loyal royals???
|
It is usually later in the year when they announce it. Want to book a Back to Back in December once I find out if they are or not. May be around July or so.
|
Yes RCI is doing the December Celebration and it is not too early to book your cruise. I have already booked my December cruise. It's an 8 nighter on the Independence OTS leaving out of Ft. Lauderdale on December 8th. This probably is the best time to book, these cruises fill up fast. The double points apply to Diamond, Diamond Plus and Pinnacle members. I saw a really good 7 night cruise leaving out of San Juan on the Adventure OTS on December 9th. You could book a Jr. Suite for $1119.00 pp. DW and I have done this one twice.

I wondered the same thing myself so I called RCI and asked. I spoke to a Vacation planner and a rep from Crown & Anchor. Both told me the December Celebration is going on this year. I spoke to the reps on Feb. 3rd. This is a good program, an easy way to really rack up some points. You can call and get more information from C&A.

December Bookings
Thanks for the info. Will look to book.
|
So let me get this straight; If I booked a "regular" cruise, 8 night Junior Suite, I would get 16 points towards my cruise points as I am a Diamond member.
If I book a Junior Suite on a December Celebration cruise, I would get this doubled to 32 points? Please tell me I have this correct!!!!!!:o |
YOu have that correct if they double
|
I believe it works like this; You would get 8 points for the cruise, 8 points because you booked a suite (Jr. Suite and above) and you would get 8 points for being a Diamond member sailing during December Celebration. If it were just an 8 night cruise booked in a Jr. Suite without the December Celebration, then you would just get 8 points for the cruise and 8 points for the Suite. The max for the example that you gave would be 24.
|
Maybe an easier way to look at it is double points for the amount of nights (8X2) then 8 points for the Jr. Suite.
|
I had not heard of this until recently. Do other lines do this as well?
Edit: I suspect the cruise has to start in december/not start in november and lead into december to get credit? |
ok, that makes sense but in saying that it is acutualy only 1.5 double points for a juinor suite correct? And not double points.

Thanks Seadog2

Double point
Hi!
All December month on every ship of Royal Caribbean it is "Diamond Celebration ",for diamond & diamond plus members you get double point. Have a nice weekend. MTL |
Was on a 12 nt. Dec trip in a "JS" so got 36 points. I know not everyone can take advantage of this "Celebration" but I appreciate any "thank you" I get from the program.
|
Robbie H, I hear you. This is a real good way to get points. If you are a Diamond member and above and can hold out till December to cruise then this is the way to go.
|
I am already looking:)
|
While I was just on Freedom of the Seas, we booked another cruise (we are Diamond members now). I booked a back to back on 12/08 and then again on 12/13, Junior Suite. I will be getting 24 points towards Diamond Plus. :D

Excited if true
I'm booked for a December cruise to take advantage of the point deal. My wife and daughter is taking a short cruise in May bringing our point total up to 145 after this cruise. We then booked a cruise on the Explorer of the Seas, 10 day, December in a JS looking at 20 points and if it holds, a bonus of 10 additional points for December giving us 175 at the completion of the cruise.
Veendam Westerdam Glory Majesty of the Seas Empress of the Seas Monarch of the Seas Adventure of the Seas Serenade of the Seas Mariner of the Seas Enchantment of the Seas Brilliance of the Seas Majesty of the Seas Explorer of the Seas Liberty of the Seas Freedom of the Seas Enchantment of the Seas Majesty of the Seas - May Explorer of the Seas - December |
I've booked a JS on the Liberty for back-to-back 5 night cruises in December. Those points plus the 4 points I'll get for the Rock Legends II cruise in January will give me 176 points and entry into the hallowed Diamond Plus territory. Assuming they don't change the C&A program again.
|
I won't be surprised to see at least one more change. With all the revitalization, each ship is picking up a "Diamond lounge" which probably means only Pinnacle and suites in the concierge lounge somewhere down the road. I just enjoy having my key work both places since I am not crazy about the lounges without windows.

Glad to hear this is on again this year
We had not talked to RCI about it but they had done it for several years so we went ahead and booked last week 10 and 11 back to back.... so 42 points we are at 131 LOL so we still need to hit a 3 night trip at some point or we end up at 173.....

Royal Caribbean to host Crown & Anchor Society Event in December | Royal Caribbean Blog
This is a cut-n-paste of the 2010 announcement. They started in 2009 and continued on. Havent gotten official word of the 2012 "event" but unofficially it is"out there" |
I emailed Crown and Anchor and the answer I got today states that there is currently no December event but towards the end of August is when they are usually determined...

I beieve the December event has only doubled for Diamond and up. And the "JS" always gets double points and priority check-in but the buck stops there. Full suites get the concierge, free booze etc.
|
The December celebration is for Diamond and up. All Diamond and up members gets the bonus.
