Default Things to do in Naasau, St Thomas & St Maarten

We leave on the Oasis in 3 weeks & have not yet decided on what to do. We have visited these islands many time & would just like some different ideas. We have been to Atlantis,Megan's Beach, Cokie Beach & Orient Beach several times. Although we are certainly not tired of these destinations we would like some input or ideas on something else to see/do. We did the Amazing Race in Cozumel in January & it was great. Has this activity spread to any of the Eastern Islands yet?
Would appreciate any input from our fellow cruisers.

Thanks...Libby

We took a ferry to a private beach in St.Maarten .Included in the cost were all beverages including alcohol but this was 18 years ago.

We usually rent a car and drive around St. Martin. It's very easy to drive and you can cover the entire island (and explore some fun, secluded spots). In St. Thomas in November we did a fun half day sailboat snorkel with sea turtles with the Fury. Loads of fun and we saw lots of turtles.

When we were last to St. Thomas we took a excursion to the island of St. John. St. John is very beautiful and we really enjoyed the trip.

At St. Martin we just took a cab and did our own thing. It was really nice not fighting crowds and being able to take our time to see things.

In St Maarten, someone recommended the World Cup Regetta to me as something really fun and different to do.

I also recommend ferrying it over to St John's and spending the day there since you have seen St Thomas.

Enjoy the Oasis! You will love her.

I prefer to leave the driving to someone else, this way, we we get an escorted tour, and are able to hear all about what we are seeing. On St. Maarten driving yourself is much easier than in St Thomas though, with their hairpin turns.

Participating in the Americas Cup Regatta is exhilerating, or from what I understand, you can just lay back and watch others use their muscles The Butterfly Farm might interest you...Orient or Dawn Beach offers you a beach day.

If you love to snorkle, In St Thomas take the ferry to St John, for the best of the best. Visit the Mountain Top, or, take the Tram up to Paradise Point..amazing vistas!

Spend the day, in Nassau, exploring Atlantis..The Dig, The Aquarium, the shops, and the, gambling, is all there in one great spot.....do a Segway tour, and see the island close up......watch the Oasis leave the port on the webcam, to get you in the mood..have fun

In St. Thomas a cruisemate and his wife rode the dollar taxi to save money to downtown to pick up taxi which they were going ride to a flower garden which is known worldwide - unfortunately I don't have name of garden maybe you can goggle it if you are interested. One caution: check before you go on this adventure because the flowers or plants may be out of season or dead or the garden closed. These people were not smart enough to do prechecking - pennywise and poundfoolish.

When in St. Thomas, hop a ferry over to St. John's. Beautiful and tranquil.

Default Things to do in the EasternCarribean

In St. Martin take the ferry over to St. Barts and spend some time on thi sultra luxurious island. Go to the Original Cheeseburger in Paradise. From Marginot, you also can take a ferry to Anquilla. Although, if you have to choose between the two, go to St. Barts.

In St. Thomas take a ferry over to St. John's or even a short plane ride to St. Croix. Water Island is another good choice.

In Nassau, just enjoy Atlantis.

We were in St.Thomas and St.Maarten 2 weeks ago . Aside from the "Todd was here" signs we enjoyed going to a beach in St.Maarten and taking tours of both islands .

I agree with the others about a trip to St. John's. Beautiful!

I did the Regatta in Cozumel. What an experience! To actually take the wheel of an amazing sailboat like this(Stars and Stripes) was awesome!!!

During the race I was the rear grinder on the port side. I had to crank in and release the line for the mainsail. After the race I took the wheel for a while... Awesome!!!

I have never been to St. Maarten but if I go, I think I would like to go to that beach with the low flying planes.

You get on a boat right at the pier and take a 30 minute or so ride to a beautiful little cove. you are given instructions and then you get to drive around on scooters ten feet under water!!!
