Planning Tips - Oasis of the Seas

We watched as the Oasis of the Seas left on one of it's first few cruises from Ft. Lauderdale a few years from the Crown Princess and I told my girlfriend that we were going to sail on that ship one day. Well that day is October 20th!!! I just booked today and suddenly I can't wait for summer to get here and be over. (Not really)

Anyway like every ship I'm sure there are some good things to know ahead of time. Does anybody have any tips they like to share???

Thanks!

I watch her leave port on the webcam, and, she looks amazing, and like you, I hope to sail her one day. Because of this ship having so many options, others don't have, you can be sure the hints will be coming along. Enjoy the wait, with us:)

The biggest tips I can give you is make your entertainment reservations online asap. The shows are free, but you need to book them prior to getting on ship to avoid the lines. Once they are booked all they have to do is swipe your card and let you in the show. If not you stand to the side until 10 minutes before show and you can get an empty seat. Also, you should reserve if you want a speciality restarurant.

Oasis Tips:
I agree, make all your reservations online, before you board. Reservations open sometimes 90 days in advance, start checking then, altho it can be 60 days out so dont get frustrated waiting if you see that they are not opened 90 days prior to your cruise.

The only Bar to have a cocktail at where you can see the ocean is Viking Crown Lounge.

Go to the Flow Riders early.

Izumi is excellent, so is Chops.

Park Cafe is a must for breakfast and lunch- dont bother with the buffet on Oasis.

Johnny Rockets also serves breakfast.

If you are a Crown and Anchor Diamond member, dont miss your invitation to Sail Away from Labadee on the Helipad, this will be the only time you will have access to this area. The helipad is closed to passengers on Oasis.

Aft deck under aqua theatre is a nice place to watch the wake.

You can board early (around 11:30-12, depending on how quickly they get everything clean) and have much of the ship to yourself to explore.

Definitely do not miss the roast beef sandwiches in central park cafe.

Skip seafood shack.

Do not miss the aqua show, ice shows, the quest and comedy shows. I agree with booking asap online.

Sit inside at Johnny Rockets for better service.

Head to Central Park for professional photos on formal nights for shorter waits, or to take your own.

If you do the zip line, bring gym shoes, and get there first thing in the morning or right before they close. Sign all paperwork before cruise and have it with you.

Enjoy!

I had the all time quickest boarding in Ft. Lauderdale on Allure this past Oct. Walked right up to the desk and then onboard in 2 minutes, no lines, etc. This was also around noon, so pretty early.

I'm going the same day, same ship! I'm so excited, it's my first cruise actually, going with a bunch of family, so, I hope I have fun.

Ohoy Ven,

Like they said, booking your show reservations is a must but don't forget aobut your speciality dinner reservations too (if you plan on it). Breakfast in Central Park is so quiet and relaxed; watch the divers during their rehearsals; go on the Carosel and act like a kid; walkie talkies are great if one of you likes to sleep in while the other goes off to explore.

Do the Zip Line.

From people I've talked to about Oasis there's noway you're (WE'RE) not going to have fun.:-D In fact I think the fact that it's your first cruise you would love it no matter what ship you were on!:!:
